Bard Nerfs Offically Confirmed

I don't think bards are overpowered.. I just think they are in demand.

they do low dps when compared to a SMN or a BLM.

that's exactly it. their damage isn't the best, but if u combined their utilities, mobility, avoidability(ask the healers about this one), and damage, other classes don't even come close. people are smart, they want the best for party, and bard, as is, is the best by miles and miles.

but their damage already suffers when they are using their utility (20%) except for foe, if anything, the nerf should only be like "now reduces bard damage when singing foe requiem"

my tone isn't crying; it's irritated. I'm just irritated when people who refuse to see that their house is on fire, even though it's burning right in front of them.

I don't know what the nerf will be, and it probably won't even be anything big. But believe me, other classes would love the OPTION of being able to buff and debuff party.

All the utility is great, if we were a support class. The fact is, there is only 3 jobs. You either do damage, heal or tank.

I have yet to do Coil (I'm currently stuck on Titan HM), but I would like to offer my two cents.

Before I started playing I wanted to be a Bard so I can support my teammates. Now that I'm more experienced with the class, I now see myself as a DPS role with support utilities. I'm not sure what exactly Square will do to Bards, but judging from their (rather vague) statement, I'd say that they might decrease our damage output or DPS potential in favour of greater focus on our utilities. This might make me a bad bard, but I find myself doing more DPS than song singing (I use Mage's Ballad when healers have <50% MP, Army's Paeon hardly sees any action since I can't see each member's TP, and the same goes for Foe Requiem since I see the other two songs to be more vital when the party needs MP/TP). I wouldn't mind a slight nerf to my damage as long as I have more incentive to use my songs. Then again, I've yet to reach the Binding Coil of Bahamut so my words may be moot.

oh please. that doesn't mean i dont know sht about this game and bard. u know that all the points I've pointed out are valid.

Actually there is a massive amount of gear needed. Between Titan and coil of which brds scale the least from. Once you get into groups actually pushing into coil you will see brd dps drop from this (imaginary) pedistle you think it's on to almost dead last. I've never met a brd I can't crush. And that's not dissing the brds in my raid. It's the limit of the class.
