Yeah we have it better that we have 100% uptime and still manage to rank pretty much at the bottom, ofc that means we need to hit less. Sense, you make none.
This so much. Bard is the only class I wanted to play in 14. That's because I played one in 11 for a long while. But the last time I checked when I queued for DF it queued me as DD and not Support.
If you all want bard to be support make us a real support and not a hybrid. Give us back our Conjurer skills to go with our heal LB. Remove the damage penalty from songs. And our own spot in DF, since apparently the community doesn't want us as a DD.
But whatever, I'll wait to see what nerfing we get before I reroll.
Everyone claims Bard is second to lowest DPS. No one has a 100% properly working damage parser. This makes all the DPS parsing claims invalid for any class.
Bard is getting nerfed due to a simple equation of power vs utility. They have too much utility for the power they put out so the power needs to be decreased.
Bard gets the benefit of Melee(No cast times, Free movement during skills) With the benefit of Ranged (Lack of damage taken by mechanics of fights, Far ranged, Not a lot of need to dodge) While having the ability to use valuable buffs (Foe's Requiem, Paeon, Mana song)
They also currently get damage buff CD's from both the other damage classes while those classes share Cross Class skills with tank classes (which really doesn't give them much).
Bard's also overpopulate the servers and groups, and is one of the most wanted classes (Not for damage but for utility and ease of play) and one of the more played classes simply for being easy to use.
Bard nerf was incoming, They can do too much for one class. They have too many pro's and your only con is what? A damage reduction of 20% while singing? parsing on non accurate parsers as 2nd lowest DPS?(Which for the utility you bring and how easy the class is , that's still really good)
I'm not that worried about the change on bard just yet, but what I really want is a bit more utility if damage nerf is actually coming. I've been told that bards had more songs in 1.0 like increased damage on party members and speed. I also think it'd be nice if TP cost on rain of death is reduced so we'd be able to use it far more often than we can now or else we'd be TP starved(invigorate isn't enough, and I usually need my MP to sing for the healers).. I mean we were meant to be a support class, right? I wouldn't even mind if they reduced the already low 100 potency damage on rain of death to get this change, but hey, that's just me..
Honestly I was a bit disappointed when bard changed from conjurer to pugilist subclass and leaned more towards on dps but that isn't to say I don't like my bard right now![]()
The best thing that SE can do is add cast time to blood letter or a debuff while we are moving but nerfing damage is not a great idea, we really don't have so much damage is the movility why we can parse equal than other melee dps the thing here is that the battle mechanics are not equal for all classes but this is going to change too so I really don't think that putting the thing easier to a melee dps and nerfing damage to a range dps will solve the issue, We will se where the things go in PVP I only hope that SE don't get the Bard useless

The problem with that is that you get skills from other classes that will be in the party and make your skill useless because are less effective than the skills coming for the owner class
Actually changing the mechanics to be easier on melee is probably the only part I don't agree with. If they nerf one thing they don't really need to nerf the mechanics.
