Speech Bubbles - Thoughts?

actually that just clicked in my head playing in my head haha so thats what the (()) are damn player made chat bubbles... my only statement to that TALK NORMALLY IN SAY OR SHOUT AND KEEP YOUR RPING IN PARTY OR LS... I dont fully mind say rper's I actually semi enjoy it as well but I HATE (()) say rper's it is rather annoying... You can still rp and say what you want with out them...

edit: I guess I might say a good majority of people I know on besaid are quite a bit aggrivated by (()) rper's. Some of us are even RPer's and we wonder why do you have to speak in (()) its a waste and even in the chat window just detracting...

good rper: /s Good day sir! How is it that I may help you? "..." Ah you need that armor repaired I will get right on that and have it fixed for you in a jiffy!

(())'s have nothing to do with chat bubbles. They're simply an out-of-character indicator.

ah well the ones I have seen using it still talk as if they are in character. From the ones I have seen. Also just doing it in shout like Eliza Joran does.... is the leading cause of annoyance...

For the same reason Xmbei won't stop rambling on about how annoying roleplayers are in a thread has nothing to do with roleplaying.

We want to talk about it. Because the developers did not 'shoot down the idea', or categorically deny it. They said they were not considering it at this time.

Sure that's developer talk for 'probably never' but that doesn't mean nobody should be allowed to talk about it, or even sit on the faint hope someone'll reconsider. Honestly if it's so annoying seeing us natter on, why not wander off to another thread?

Wrong I said some roleplayer's are annoying not all. Also It has everything to do with Roleplayer's in this thread because it is Roleplayer's in the majority that want the chat bubbles... read whole thread before you make a comment about that maybe you missed that part on which it was stated

Yeah yeah I edited that to be a bit less abrasive above but..

And sure, some people would prefer it for roleplay purposes, but so far as I'm conserned the roleplay angle's a lucky side effect and has very little to do with the topic at hand. I've held preference for them since long before I took up roleplay and I put zero weight in their necessity for it. They just make it a damn sight easier to see who the hell is talking and have the side benefit of making the world look a bit less dead.

And the whole thread? Seriously? It's fifteen pages long, you think I really have that sort of time? Either you have an awful lot of time on your hands or you're just like me and most others - read the opening post or three then catch up on the end.

Anyway whatever, this thread's obviously turned nasty so.. I'm out.

I have ~3 posts to do about how rper's use bubbles just to state a point to do with the chat bubbles. meh whatever, the reason Rper's were even brought up and i was shortly corrected on was the say rper's talking with (()) and I had thought that was people wanting chat bubbles and thought it was tacky/annoying in the chat window, then was told it was for OOC, so I was corrected but still stand to say 75% of the rper's I have seen talk in (()) are still speaking as if they are rping and not ooc'ing, again thats how it has to do with the topic I had thought the (()) were rp'ers way of making their own chat bubbles sorry for my "rambling on annoying" I seem to have offended you. When I might not of even been talking about your particular RPing...

lol anyways on topic: Still disagree with it being used, sure I guess it is okay to be toggled. but I am stating for all the people I know in game they would perfer to go without chat bubbles.

Finding a relation between speech bubbles and role players is far fetched.
And seeing the person making this relation claims role-players use (( )) for something other than out of character comments clearly shows he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Now more on topic, its funny how threatened some people must feel about speech-bubbles that they dare go so far to try and silence those who want them.

This thread has already over 3k views and that little crown symbol. So yay, it is a hot topic. I say Keep it roaring and we'll see if developer plans stay the same.

While i don;t think speech bubbles really fit this game, maybe a better thing would be little audio bites when you get in the vicinity of certain NPC's make theworld feel more alive
