    I'm cancelling my subscription due to lack of response from Square Enix

    I've been experiencing lag for a month, and I posted in that extremely long thread about throtting. I've called time Warner Cable and there no problems on their end. I called Netgear because we use a router, and no issues on that. This lag is coming from Square enix's servers, and it's been getting progressively worse with each maintenance, there has been no announcement to explain why we're experiencing this problem, any estimate date to have it fix, etc. there has been no reply, and honestly, as much as I love this game, I'm not too happy of spending money on a product I can't quite use.

    I can't do any primal hardmode fight because my lag makes me get hit by everything even though it looks in my screen I got out on time and I'm 20 feet away from the damage. I haven't been able to join any groups for Bahamut's coil because of my lag, and there's just so many times I can run Amdapor Keep before getting fed up with the monotony. I just want to be able to enjoy the game, not get angry and frustrated every time I do anything, because even crafting lags a lot. that s why i'm not paying for the following month, there's no point in wasting money for something i can't use, and also for the abysmal costumer service.

    A friend of mine was hacked before he could get a token in his cellphone, and it's been 4 weeks now since then and he keeps being ignored as his live chat never goes through, only gets generic email replies, and he wasted all his minutes being on hold on the phone just to never get to talk with a real person. I've sent emails too and tried the live chat to ask about this lag issue, and they don't go through either. At this point it just feels like I'm giving my money to somebody who doesn't give a s*** about me at all.

    Edit: You could live far from the data center that could be your lag issue

    Your friend who got hacked he waiting in line with the rest of the people who got hacked he waiting for his turn. Once it's his turn he be unban then he have to fill a report to reroll back his account which take 7-10days If he lost his gil/item and if he want to get it back.

    Sorry to say that zenaku but either you're blind or missunderstanding things, there IS a problem with the server-side-lag which is most likely NOT caused by any's ISP, hard- or network-configuration on the customer-side. Hell, my boss would kick my ass if i would tell my customers its their fault and only theirs but NOT GOING THINK ABOUT IF I MADE A MISTAKE. Its since when? Alpha? Beta? There WAS always a server-side-lag, but now we ran gold and this server-side-lag just became more consistent, it doesnt matter which route i tunnel through.

    So yeah, to the OP, there arent much more options, canceling the service since SE wont take any actions any soon...but the mods are happy-trigger with closing threads regarding server-client-problems...sad sad day

    BTW. like everyone can see, i have a very low post-count aka i'm a silent person, but i wont stand back if things will turn the wrong way.

    Ya i end up not reading the full wall of text just saw the lag part was just trying to see if the problem could be her/his internet/Computer or even the fact that she/his may live very far from the data center. It's like if i try doing titan in JP data center i'm sure i lag and have issue.

    Some just have memorized the rotation titan does BUT thats usually not the intention on an encounter, count seconds or read up left health. Many people are stuck with that problem without a answer from SE in a reasonable time whatsoever -.-

    Plus, i bet my balls, i wont have any respond of a mod within the next week on the german board to my thread, nor arthemisa.... -.-

    I wouldn't mind waiting longer if at least there was a post from any tech support employee explaining the situation, whether it's being worked on, and if there's an estimated date for it to be solved.

    as it is right now, it's very disprespectful of SE to ignore all these issues and the players/costumers. I mean, I play WoW and while that game isn't as great as FF14, their costumer service is much better and you actually get to talk to a real representative in-game or on the phone much faster than here.

    i wont touch WoW by myself tho, my hopes are high that in near future SE cant IGNORE this situation anymore,
    which they absolutely DO right now, and try to fix this. Even if i wouldnt have those problems at all,
    people i know would have those and i would be glad to step back some days for maint. till there is a new roll-out of a client which actually would help everyone.

    You'll get no troll response from me. I just wanted to say that sucks and I'm sorry OP.

    I'm not entirely sure how networking works but why wouldn't server side lag affect all players?

    Don't really need to see specs but could it be a graphic settings or a CPU/GPU problem?

    I really hope SE sorts this out for you...

    Something similar happened to the other MMO I mentioned before. It happened a couple of years ago, suddenly some ISPs started to manage WoW as if it was the same kind of data as bit torrent, that (from what i was explained) means that data transfer has lower priority, so when you play you'd lag a lot. I think the term used is throtting? anyways, it took about a month for Blizzard to have the issue fixed, because it affected thousands of players who used different internet providers. It was Blizzard who talked to the ISPs and sorted things out.

    Now, if you go to the thread list in this forum, you'll see a thread that's about 137 pages long where people from all around the world have been having this issue for weeks, and it began around the time SE added more servers. I know my issue began after a Saturday 4-hour maintenance. As soon as the game was back up, I started lagging, and the lag has not gone away. After the last maintenance we had in Excalibur, my lag got worse. I've already talked to my ISP, I've checked my computer, have updated drives, everything works great and I haven't had any lag issues with any other game but FF14. So, if the problem is not on my end, it's on SE's side, and they are the ones who have to fix it. They are the ones who have to talk to all the internet providers players have mentioned in that megathread and sort things out because it is their product that is being affected.

    If SE expect us the players to fix the lag issue, that's like having a chef come out and tell you YOU need to fix your own dish if the chef burned it or added too much salt , even though you've paid for it.

    question have you ran a speed test on your connection itself? if you haven't go here http://www.speedtest.net/

    I was having an issue with my computer where i was getting only 9.15 mbps. i called up Bright House (Used to be timewarner) spent over an hour on the phone with them (and this was doing it both via wireless as well as with a cat5 ethernet cable. finally got through them the wireless to be getting the 50+ mbps that I should get and then I was still having an issue with the cat5 connection. What I had to do was actually go into the advance settings of my network card and force it to stop throttling itself. I'd double check that first and foremost before anything jic. if it's not i have no clue
