However, 1,000,000 beta invites don't mean much when people like me can use 4-5 emails casually whereas more desperate people can create a far greater number of emails. FF14 launch wasn't that great but most mmo's launches aren't. Server overcrowding is something I see on every mmo to date. Even WoW had quite a few issues on their launch with certain servers going down for weeks. Don't get me started on the loot bug or how long it took for them to get to you if you unfortunately fell under the world.
you can't compare WOW's or even FFXI's launches to this one.both were first tries at MMO's. FFXIV had a previous launch and had almost the exact same errors happen then as this time. the people were there then too and all the errors chased them away (surprised they didn't play it safe and over estimated the capacity actually) this time was SE's 3rd launch of a MMO so they didn't go in as new to the genre or its problems nor did they go in blind with pre orders already tallied before launch or even the 1 mil apps which could safely mean 1/4 would be legit base to expect and probably more. stuff happens at launch everyone expects it. what happened here was BAD planning at best.
