Is it in the 2.1 patch that we will see market transaction history of an item directly when we wanna sell it via retainer? Having to check the market boards before selling just to see the market price is a waste of time

You can do that now. When you select an item to sell at your retainer, there's a little icon in the upper right. Looks like a page of paper. Click that to get the current listings/history.
