I'm the Bloodgaru Queen.
I seem to run into alot of bad PLDs...esp in dungeons because they seem to have to try a little harder to keep group aggro...whereas it's relatively easy for a Warrior. The thing is...I run dungeons MOST of the time (and so does everyone else). As a PLD, I find it challenging to keep group hate. Cycling through the mobs is alot of work...and I've definitely seen PLD's that can't do this efficiently.
IDK why we keep having these conversations. It's been reiterated over and over that they excel at different things. Warrior = better at managing groups, PLD = no brainer boss tank. Obviously there are deviations based on player skill/gear, but those are the differences in a nutshell.
The MAIN problem between the classes is this:
-Paladins can make up for their weaknesses in crowd management by player skill.
-Warriors tanking big bosses are hindered by their class skills and [lack of] inherent defense. It can be made up partially by skill, but they're at much more of a disadvantage than PLD's.
Does this warrant a change? Maybe. Maybe not. The issue here seems to be that alot of warriors want to be on equal playing fields with PLDs as main tanks...but maybe they're just meant to shine as group tanks and off-tanks.
I personally like seeing Warriors and Paladins as my tank in their own fair share of circumstances. I like seeing Warriors in AK. I perfer seeing a PLD in Garuda. Isn't this the same thing that happens with other classes...like Melee DPS vs. Ranged? Not sure why people think this should be treated so differently.

Those aren't really 'problems' though. You have to heal it too much? That sounds like a healer's problem to me :T
The only real 'problem' is the fact that pld has too much damage mitigation compared to their brother tank, and pld is literally easy mode tanking, when it shouldn't be 'easy' at all. War != Pld , don't try to play them like one.
I had a war in my CM group yesterday.. and he was very well geared.. but he was also a HUGE pain in the ass.. it was hard for my heals to keep up. ):
I do agree on this, I find that when partying with a warrior he can get the mob off the healer almost immediately but with a paladin I saw him running back & forth between the enemies multiple times and he couldn't get the mob off either me or my fairy until at least 1 of the mobs was dead.
Yoshi himself said that they recommend Warriors
And this is why I dreaded pvp implementation. The balance treadmill begins...
Sounds like a personal problem to me. Healers I've had in AK have no problem keeping me up while spamming holy in cleric's stance :P
Its not open world, and skills and gear will be pvp arena specific from what the devs have said.
Still would die. Paladins may have a lot of damage mitigation skills, but that's not gonna save them from a lvl 2 limit break.
The issue is, to many people aren't intelligent enough to know how to play warriors. Paladin is the standard, run of the mill tank. Don't get me wrong, that's a good thing, as people new to tanking should start with that run of the mill tank class. However, people are in general dumb, and would rather rush into the harder class of the picks available, and then complain about it not being strong enough. Both PLD and WAR have their differences, Strengths, Weaknesses, and its not the classes fault if you don't know what they are, it's your fault. There is more then enough information out there to educate people on both, and those that complain, didn't do their research.
and FYI, i hate PLDs, because the majority of PLDs i come across, all suck ass.

Orly? So a level 2 Limit Break is somehow going to magically go through a move that makes you literally Invincible for 10 seconds? Please, tell me more.
To put it to further perspective a level 2 limit against bosses at level 50 does about 12k damage. Mobs don't have any natural mitigation so you can assume that WAR will take the same or slightly less damage depending on if defense is taken into account. A PLD can mitigate 20% of that just from being in Shield Oath. 20% more with Rampart, 40% more with Sentinel. Even if the reduction was multiplicative instead of additive that's 62%~ reduction in damage so less than 5k which PLDs can easily get in HP. Add in that Morale is going to be a PVP stat that either a) reduces damage taken from players or b) increases damage dealt by players implying that PvP damage will be nerfed somewhat.
