FFXI and XIV are MMORPGs and have been/will be up and running for 5-10 years+. The cost and resources to VO hundreds if not eventual thousands of NPC dialogues would be outrageous at best.

    He'll try, or just troll when he can't come up with a good argument.

    It's why in some MMOs with any VO they generally have it used sparingly or very short phrases that can be recycled throughout the game.
