Maybe they'll can the PS3 version in 2-3 expansion packs, and use PS4 as the lowest common denominator.

animation=/= shaders and textures
So exactly what is it you hate to tell him? czu your point is irrelevant![]()
He said
To which I responded that you likely won't find better animations in any other mmo. "I hate to tell you this, but it's about as good as it's going to get". It's pretty self-explanatory.We all know that 1.XX had better Textures, Animation as well as certain little things
AAR has downgraded graphics compared to 1.X. I'll be more happy if they release a hi-res version of the client.
if PS4 is the lowest common denominator, and we all know it will, that in its own right might hinder the graphics for PC users, as we all don't want just ps4 port, i mean for some people ps4 will look same as pc, and lets hope there is noticeable differences , and some better cpu utilization implementations , but if there is no difference to ps4 version and PC dx11 version, then its clear what they chosen to do, and that once again il have mod the hell out of graphics to push it even further through 3rd party software and drivers, now what would stop them for pushing what graphics are like for MMO's, if they scale correctly, and use AMD mantle, sucks for Nivida users , then should even see more implementations for better graphics instead of use of DX11 API, as DX11 APi is bottleneck to what GPU's and CPU can do, as it most people should know DX11 is not great, future is mantle , metal on metal performance . well closer then anything MS has with DX11
Mantle is a low-level API specification[2] developed by AMD as an alternative to Direct3D and OpenGL. Currently the only implementation is for AMD's GCN graphics processing unit architecture
Up to 9 times more draw calls per second than comparable APIs by reducing CPU overhead.[3]
More fine control over the hardware.[3]
All hardware capabilities are exposed through the API.[3]
New rendering techniques possible.
Direct GPU memory access.
Prevents CPU bottlenecks.
Multithreaded parallel CPU rendering support for at least 8 cores.[4]
No game developer reliance on existing AMD driver support release schedules. (potentially no or less bugs on release, much faster patching for GFX related errors)
Due to bypassing of error-prone and inefficient abstraction, common technical difficulties like FPS drops, micro stuttering and texture corruption may be significantly less frequent or nonexistent.
Substantial performance increase compared to high-level APIs such as DirectX and OpenGL

I have to disagree on this, the visible belts and the variety of them allowed the players to add a touch of personality to the character. I liked using the belt types that had all the pouches (you now see these integrated on DoL body pieces) on my CNJ/WHM so it looked like she was fully prepared with spell components and such (I'm an ex UO player, I still like the idea of using reagents to cast spells XD) compared to the simple ropes or sashes.
That said, I don't blame the devs for doing away with the belts (it was one of the first changes in 1.x, in fact) because even with the gear that was originally available it never animated correctly. They simply never put the work in to verify that all belts worked with all outfits. So my awesome Batman utility belts always clipped through my darn robes, especially WHM AF.
Thinking of animations, try to find video of a 1.x Roegadyn walking. Many body pieces, if you look at the base of their backs, animated as if they still have tails.
overall looks pretty good for an open world mmo... but theres some angles that boobs are look liek polygons xD

SE wanted to target a MUCH LARGER group of people for FFXIV:ARR, this means not just the ps3 market, but also the casual gamer who does not have a nice gaming PC. Guess what type of PC the average casual player who plays FFXIV has?, well I can say its not a gaming computer and the sheer fact that many average non-gaming PC have to turn down everything to a minimum (making it essentially a PS3 version with more loaded on screen at one time). This is just as much of a reason as the PS3 as to why you see the changes made from 1.0 which was hard to run on a low end gaming PC (and couldn't be run well on a non-gaming PC).
Also, further evidence that it is not 100% the ps3, if you go do research their are features left out of the PS3 version which are on the PC version (Focus target for example). If they were making everything the same and going by the limitations of the PS3 for everything focus target and other things would not exist in the game currently.
