I'm not opposed to battle strategies at all. They should only be a guide though, and not an automatic win. Fights should still be able to throw in their "curve ball." I don't see a problem making gamers think to win a fight. Perhaps I am mistaken though.
Make it challenging, but accessible. I don't want to see a fight like the original airship fight in FFXI where you needed a very specific setup and very specific set of consumables to success... That and a pinch of luck, of course!
I can't wait to see the story associated with it!
Lots of movement, and maybe some cutscenes showing the whole party.
Ifrit is kind of too big to summon.. I couldn't see his model being pulled out every fight. Maybe he could give out a fire element helper that resembles him and is kind of cute. Or they can do the boring elemental summons.
For the actual fight, I would like a dramatic CS and maybe a team action que. I also would like the fight to be challenging. Also Ifrit shouldn't do the same movements and attacks during the entire fight. Change up his attacks as his hp bar goes down to give off that he isn't stupid AI. Ummm we need cool gear as a reward, like a Ifrit bone harness. Or a cool head piece. I hope there are cool weapons that will drop from him too. Please let the fight happen up on mountain with hot lava, let us climb the mountain to reach him. Let there be some kind of water near by that players can use to throw on him. Let this be freakin epic.

Can anyone explain what this is all about? Is it like a dungeon/raid content? Behest? Quest?This is a chance to add in a story related challenge to the players, and I for one hope that it happens.
I'm talking about walking into it and being obliterated due to not knowing strategies to defeat him. Having to take a step back and go, hmm ok guys maybe we should try this... To feel a sense of accomplishment, there needs to be difficulty, and have us hanging on by the skin of our teeth. Nearly one shot the tank with magic DMG if you must in order to accomplish this, creating a sense of urgency, perhaps forcing us to use those elemental attributes that we have been given.
Most of have witnessed Ifrit already, now show us what he is capable of so that he lives up to the lore that has been given to us.
Feel free to discuss further battle ideas, as I am sure others have their own.
Ifrit is has been introduced in the FFXIV plot, and I don't believe he will be like an NM that can be hunted. It will be a One-Time completion mission I believe. As it stands now none of the missions can be repeated, so it would be nice to make this Ifrit fight memorable.
Perhaps it could lead to the opening of Ishgard? One can dream. If items are to drop, they should be useable by all classes, like special rings, chokers etc.
Hope that helps clear things up. If you have not seen Ifrit yet, continue playing the story missions (r38 or 42, can't remember at the moment). They are worth the effort and can be done solo up to this point.
Haven't we already had a video with Titan in from pre-release in some Gridania area? (One of those little horned kids was in the cutscene)
