The endgame content if anything is too easy with the exception of a few fights. Being able to arrange a group and coordinate on V/C with in the coil is all part of the experience. As already pointed out the Crystal Tower is designed for the casual player to participate in endgame raiding, it's just a shame it's not in the game yet.

If you're whining about having to rely on other players' skill I think MMORPGs (at least not high end raiding) are not for you.

If someone misses a AOE dodge or does not know the fight it becomes a problem. This is the primary concern of the Duty finder in endgame.

Ive done the whole teamwork thing. Im in a FC, ran COIL turn 1 and 2 using mumble/teamspeak, use linkshells for good groups, etc but it just comes off as frustrating. Spending up to an hour trying to get people on to do the content, and then the content you attempt is just riddled with tons of mechanics to all be familiar with. All 8 players mind you to perform perfectly.

    Nothing more to say.

I am in a casual FC with friends I have played many games with over the years. Because we are in different timezones getting to titan/ coils would be impossible for us. But many of us learned well from FF11 you make a name for yourself and you build a reputation by being helpful and good at what you do. Now im in a solid coils group with another FC while in my FC just by my reputation alone. I helped them, helped many others on a linkshell they made for endgame dungeons. I rarely use duty finder at all and we constantly help help and help. Titans a breeze, were almost downing turn 4 in coils. getting groups for /anything/ is easy you just need to know where to look and just have a rep of being that guy who is up for anything. You will get noticed and organize groups would want you with them as they know you are reliable.

People play MMORPG and get bored of playing with others.
Play car racing games and get bored that they have to race with a car too much.
Play FPS and get bored that they have nothing to do but shoot.

It's not the gaming industry that's going bad. It's the players.

Which is why you should mix it up when playing MMO's. Do something alone, fish, craft, explore and join up in some dungeons when you feel like it, not because you're stressing with getting the best gear. No one cares how large your epeen is. Do one thing over and over and burnout is imminent.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that there is no recovery from a single mistake. You fully wipe, return to the starting point, then try again. Absolutely no heroics from anyone to keep the fight going until everyone can get back up and bring down the mob.

We had some deaths mid fight in every turn in coil and still managed to down the boss. With a little raise timing and CD management you can recover out of bad situations. That doesn't work on everything though. If you miss the rot in Turn 2 for example its over but that really isn't a hard mechanic

So I have read posts like this in a lot of other games as of late. This is my opinion about the matter. You have this entire game and all of the content that goes with it. What percent of that content is hard or difficult? Same crap different game, people want a hand out. What about content for the people that want a challenge? The issue is people want the best items but don't want to put in the work for them, otherwise they would be satisfied with the content they are capable of accomplishing and play casually, but they don't.

They race to max level and when the first speed bump comes around, something isn't viable "EASY" or its not worth it, or what were you thinking. While the people looking for a challenge beat it just fine. Personally I think "END GAME" events should be difficult and require teamwork this is not call of duty this is an RPG and RPG's are meant to be a challenge, or used to be until Waste of Warcraft came around.

Honestly what challenge does a Virtual game give seriously, do you put "i beat Coil turn 5 in FF14" on your resume....no lol
For many people, the challenge to progress, learn, advance, "get better" doesn't need to be limited to only what we do in real life. We want our entertainment to challenge us too. There are plenty of simple mindless "entertainment" games out there, luckily for us some MMOs are better than that.

It seems the challenge in the Virtual FFXIV End game is great considering the number of people complaining that it can't be completed without coordination, determination, focus, teamwork and commitment. And if you are curious about what does "I beat Coil turn 5" get you.... Apparently it means quite a bit to the players of FFXIV given all the posts about it being impossible or too hard ,etc.
