Tough for me..most of the people I've been playing games with for the last 7 years are all still playing call of duty an refuse to play these games...no big deal right? I just gotta find like-minded people.
only acceptable becuse ppl allow it to be instead of jumping on the new players should make the others that call themselves "elite" to calm down like the tards that join cm through duty finder and get mad cause its not a speed run if you want speed run make your own party. We should chatise the "elite" and point out every mistake they make instead of bashing the new guy. cause most of the so called elite are horrible players. And stop jumping on bandwagon when they start to bash the new guy defend them no matter what.
Well this is good advice.
But, personally I'm not a bandwagon'er. I Lvl'ed WAR to 50 first, without realizing that it is the #1 most hated job in the game. I was told numerous times by many many people that it is a terrible job and that I should re-roll to PLD. I was told over and over again that I wouldn't make it through Turn 1 and 2 of Bahamuts coil as a WAR tank. Guess what, I didn't listen to them and a week later I found a group to do Coil with and we're now on Turn 4 and progressing quickly.
The point is that we need more people that will make a stance, and not bend so easily when it comes to this type of behavior being spread around so easily in the MMO community.
Personally, I will answer all questions to the best of my abilities. However, I've seen a number of questions in chat that have been something like "Where is X mob located?" or "Where do I go next for this random quest?" that I personally don't know (or don't remember) the answer to and no one is responding to them. In cases like this I will google it for them (the benefit of having two monitors is never having to tab out!) but then I'll suggest that, in the future, they do so themselves for these kinds of questions because people often won't know the answers off the tops of their heads.
Google is an amazing tool. :3
This is actually a very important point...
The other day I joined a Manor duty as Whm and on the first pull I knew the tank was bad which I could deal with but he was also a dbag. He started yelling at me for dpsing (I wasn't) and doing stuff to make things made at me (I was casting cure I and leaving him at very low health). I pointed out he had no clue, he continued to bash me and finally he left. The two dps in the group never said a word. Of course waiting on a tank takes forever so I go bored and warned them to step back because I was going to start pulling. They decided to join in... Turns out the two dps where very good players that knew their jobs and followed my marks exactly... every pull from the first boss to he last boss. We cleared most of the instance with just the three of us and had a bit of fun doing it. We got stuck waiting for a tank on the final boss because it was just too much...
Anyway the point is they never said a word in my defense. They let him bash me even though he was clearly wrong.
I do something similar...I have a laptop beside me most of the time. I also recommend xivdb to everyone because it is generally useful.Personally, I will answer all questions to the best of my abilities. Here is what you do when people get mad at you for watching cut scenes.
Keep watching the cut scene. If they leave, its on them.
Well at this point it is a very stupid thing to say. Does anyone honestly think that a person playing an online game, able to chat the online game, and figure out they need to find something the online game... won't know what google is?
Just missing the boat to The Overthere and sitting on that deserted island waiting for the next boat for half an hour. I don't know why, but somehow that always happened to me, and even so it never pissed me off![]()
