Oh and the worst players ever are the "carry me!" party leaders XD
They put up DL + Relic+1 parties for Castrum Meridianum and if you examine them they have barely half AK gear.
People always think I'm one of them, but I'm just a low level gamer. I know this is not good in MMOs, but I am that kind of player.
And then another bad kind of player is the gear flamer noob. I'm talking about people flaming about everyone else's gear, and then dying at first AoE XD
Got a BLM once that said I was too undergeared, I died last, he died first. XD

Come on people, it's the A-Holes that pull this crap, lets cut to the chase.

The hardcore players were fully geared up two weeks ago and did it by running with their fc's. From playing other mmo's I have generally found that those who ask for these insane requirements are generally just bad players who actually think you need that level of gear to beat the place. More often then not they dont even meet their own requirements or they just barely do.

Those are new players.

They got a primal- and suddenly primals were required.

They got DL - Suddenly DL is required

They got relic - suddenly they require relic for everything

They are idiots. Don't group with them. They are gearscore humpers that probably rely on a gearscore to hide their badness. I would take a well played char over a paper tiger gearscore kid any day.

They aren't leet or hardcore. They are just trying desperately to feel that way.

for me i never care if the player dont have DL gear/ifrit weapon as long they use atleast wear af armor THAT everyone should got from job quest and GC weapon
even i got ifrit weapon and wear many DL gear while run CM, i care less bec all first timer can success run with that equip,hell even ifrit HM no need dl gear

To the OP. While I do honestly understand the concern of people doing this sort of thing (I'm not fond of it either) I get where these people are coming from. However, I run my own linkshell, and members are never going to tell that someone needs to be overgeared for content. Try finding a linkshell that has people that actually help one another.
As for the elitism concept? Keep in mind that some of these people have to push for darklight gear for many many classes that they play efficiently. to some, helping lower levels or newer players to content is a waste of time (though I personally do not agree, how will we ever get better without knowing the content?)

Biggest issue for new players trying to do coil is their lack of versatility. When someone levels a useless job aka warrior/drg/mnk(single target weapon skills are necessary, not saying they dont have their advantages). It makes it really difficult because then they have to go back and level the job and all the sub classes that require the necessary skills that are available to this job. Even if someone has just leveled bard you still need another job that helps out past turn 2. Having one bard is fine but if your group already lacks versatility, it forces at least 1-2 people to have multiple jobs at the level and the necessary sub abilities. It's partially the game design at fault but even more so the player themselves didn't do the necessary research before leveling the correct job.

Warriors, dragoons and monks are useless? WHAT? My group clears Turn 1-4 on mondays in a hour, and our group makeout is: Paladin, Warrior, Dragoon, Monk, Bard, Black Mage, Scholar, White Mage.

USELESS? Really? Come on. Just because you think they're useless doesn't mean they are. Just because some people say those jobs are sub-par doesn't mean they are. Leave that stupid debate out of this, no job is useless, people just have to know how to play them. Only thing I'll give people is that Warriors are a bit harder to heal than Paladins, but our Warrior tank is amazing and it barely shows.

The only thing I will agree with that I got out of your post is that leveling your sub-classes is important to have useful skills. For example, Paladins should strongly consider getting Conjurer to ~34 to get Stoneskin. It might sound stupid, but once you have the core Marauder abilities, you have two slots left. I usually roll with Cure+Stoneskin, just for those offtimes when I have 3 seconds with nothing to do and mana to waste.

Sorry, reading a guide is no substitute for real in-game experience. Mistakes and all.

I said it in another thread and I'll say it here. This obsession on the part of wannabe elitist players with flawless play through dungeons has gone well past the line of decency and is driving new players away for fear of even making a single mistake. No YouTube video or game guide from a pseudo-expert is going to replace firsthand experience in an event. And I'm sure it will shock you "pros" that mistakes will be part of that experience. Additionally, I hope I don't have to remind you that you weren't veterans when you first started the game--not even if you bought your character fully decked-out.

They probably don't care, in their mind they're right and will never be wrong.

On the other hand if SE wanted to fix this they would reduce rewards at the end of dungeons based on how badly you outgear it.

Doing CM/Prae with a full relic group = only worth 50 tomes.
Doing it with full DL but no relic = 75 tomes.
Doing it with anything less = 100 tomes.

BAM, PROBLEM SOLVED. Now gear doesn't factor into how people make groups for trivial dungeons anymore.
