As far as FFXIV goes in 1.0, they were pretty much always one of, if not the first group to beat content every patch which is why some people regard their skill level so highly. From what I understand, the way they do turn 2 is much different than the norm in that they were using monks (and still do) for turn 2 while downing 4 of the nodes. So, in the way they did it, it was something that required perfect execution. There are however, much simpler ways, and none of the fights require any sort of perfect execution up to turn 5, so in that aspect I agree with what you are saying. As far as turn 5 goes, I feel like if people can not beat it in 800+ attempts at this point then there is something that needs to be looked at by SE if it wasn't intended. I do believe however, that this was intended and they are using it as a carrot on a stick to get people to 2.1 where they will more than likely nerf twintania so that it is in a form that is beatable with consistency without the use of an exploit. We are passed the point in time where we have the ability to question whether or not it is a gear issue when many people going into it for the past few weeks have had complete sets of level 90 gear. The only other possibilities are either SE over tuning the fight which is more than likely the case due to the extreme jump in difficult between turn 4 and 5 whereas there is only a slight jump in difficulty between the others, or there being some secret to the fight that no one has figured out to give more consistency. I think that the obvious answer here is
The secret boss in turn 3.

For now, we have an entire week to think about it since we are locked out of the fight due to the bug, but unless someone discovers something soon that they are willing to share with the world it looks like Yoshis prediction is going to come true. Many people I know flat out have no motivation to run coil past turn 4, which is probably the opposite effect SE intended by making the fight so hard because it means people are losing interest in the game. Personally, I am all for a challenge, but I won't be too thrilled if that challenge means, as of now, a fight that is unbeatable without exploits to make sure people don't beat all of the content within said patches duration.
