I'm not quite sure I follow...
If its bought with real money it should stay bound to the account that purchased it.

I understand your point, however I see pay to win as buying gears with higher stats that are cash only items, etc.

I don't see a problem offering this, either. I know people are freaking out about cash shop things. I don't see a problem having CERTAIN cash shop things. There are games out there that have cash shops that are all purely cosmetic and have no stat/buff/etc type gears that make Player A stronger than Player B. The only way I can see some problems with certain things such as minions, cosmetic gear, etc is if 1. Any form of stats are given (such as above) and 2. If this somehow hinders you from playing - the minion gets in the way when you click, the custom outfits for some reason disturb your way of looking at a battle - in which case they should add options in the menu to remove these (do not see other players minions, do not see other players custom outfits, etc.) However, as stated above, these should NEVER be pushed to the point where they are causing unfair advantages.

That's your opinion. Mine is that a p2p game doesn't need extra price tags. Content should be for the players not the payers.

You purchased this game and agreed to a pay to play contract without an additional item to change how you look. If Square Enix decides to charge for this item because players want the ability to change their looks, this in no way whatsoever effects the fact that you paid for a pay to play game for the specific services provided. You do not have to buy this item to advance and/or play this game. It has no effect on you, so stop complaining.

Also those of you who are calling for a cooldown, I really do not understand your reasoning. Oh em gee, So and So was a Miqo'te yesterday and now they are a Lalafell today, however will we function in the future and tell if they are a good person or not?!?!

Because that dips into the "Buy to win" situation, instead of earning the gear people would simply just buy it.
Its a VERY slippery slope where people become bored very quick when there's no reward for effort.


The reason other games offer a "buy to win" solution, is because they want to make money fast. Those games have investors who've invested into the development of the game and want a return ASAP, the easiest way to do that is a cash-shop. Square Enix does NOT have investors, the game was funded out of their own pocket, so there's no rush to earn money from FFXIV, for them the money they've spent in their own long term investment that they know will reap a return over time, just like its predecessor FFXI did, the most profitable game they've had to date.

Well as right now with as many of copies the game has sold ps3 and PC the game is already in profit area. that's why 2.1 is already on its way first months subs are due as well.... I am more than happy with what they are doing putting new content out ever 1-2 months and keep the game great..

they have the task force banning RMT and botts now as well so things are in motion Keep on Charging SE

I'd like this as something that pops up on the recurring sub rewards every 3-6 months - a little optional extra for those that want it and those that don't can simply discard it or keep it on their retainer. No harm done either way.
