Which I actually used, but typing a post on a smartphone isn't easy. In this case, the ] from the [/IMG] was accidentally removed when I was cleaning up excessive "enters".
Credit goes to Niqo'te for her fabulous art in the "Nique's happy fun time!"-thread and Nix/Capa for the Caitlyn drawing to the right. \(^_^ )/
Give her your support by liking their art!
I must be the only one who doesn't want vanity slots.....
/RerolltoaclassthatisntbasedoffofanerdThere is a lot to be said about playing a game where your character looks awesome. Even if they don't look awesome, they look... well, not completely ridiculous. In this game, my scholar spends every waking moment in perpetual ridiculousness.
From his big green earrings that flop all around as he runs to the white spandex (massive upgrade from the knee socks and oversized blazer that was the artifact gear), I can honestly say that if I saw him walk in the room I would have to stifle a chuckle, and if I found out he was my healer and my life depended on him... I'd make my peace with whatever deity I subscribed to.
I want to like my character, I can't express how much I do... but he looks like an idiot. Always. At all times. It is so painful to see that I cannot begin to express.
Please, PLEASE give us vanity slots in 2.1
Ugh I agree, who the hell designed their armor sets? Darklight Paladin looks so dumb, part of an RPG is liking your character and what he/she looks like.
I LOVE the scholar af outfit! It is mainly why I am making a scholar. But, I'm also a girl. I can imagine the outfits look pretty silly to a boy.
I will say though that my character looks very silly right now. Darklight for bard is awful! Actually I think most people don't like how darklight looks. The most vocal being paladins and bards. I'm very disappointed in how darklight was designed. AF looks fantastic! But, darklight... and actually ak armours look very lame. :/
I hope that the vanity wardrobe will be implemented before the year is finished.
I don't disagree with, actually. I was stuck in AK armor myself for way too long and the AK sets are definitely some of the ugliest in the game. I've found the vast majority of armor in the game to look rather nice, however.Wow you are absolutely right. This clown suit, which is the BiS for my character at this point in his dungeon runs, must actually look fabulous and it's really my own fault for not being able to appreciate how amazing it looks like you can.
You have impeccable taste in video game armor, sir. Glad to know you think THIS looks fantastic.
Yea, all those iterations of the same potato sack (sometimes shortened potato sack, or potato sack with slightly different sleeves, or potato sack with little diamond dangly bits around the collar) are so nice. >_>
Seriously, the model is fine, but not when it's repeated for 40 levels with maybe some palette changes or a few adornments added (this goes for the millions of iterations of subligar, and that plate set you see everywhere as well). Get some frakkin' creativity, Squee.
No. No, it doesn't. It's just more visually acceptable to you that female characters are near-naked because that's what happens in most games. As a girl playing a female character I despise most of the gear in this game. I got no problem with showing skin, mind you; I got a problem with ugly and ridiculous. Subligars are ugly and ridiculous, on a male or a female. Bard AF is a god awful jester suit, on a male or female. Most robe/half-robe models in the game are hideous, on a male or female.
And dyes are all but useless, since even while leveling you can't dye most dungeon gear, let alone once you've hit the endgame.
50 lvls of subligars, followed by a jester suit and then DL (which, admittedly, isn't the worst-looking thing the game has to offer but not exactly something to strive for either, visually). It's been killing the game for me too.
Vanity slots can't come soon enough.

It's really one of the great mysteries (and shames) of this game. The artwork is very schizophrenic in some ways.
On the one hand, the quality of the models and environmental art is incredible. Yet this quality is frustrated by generally weak shaders / AA, and some of the absolutely worst most ridiculous looking equipment I have ever seen in an MMO.
I honestly just don't understand how it's even possible. How can the overall art direction be so good, yet we have this dreadful leveling gear in an outrageous assortment of incompatible colors?
The graduation outfit is the reason I WANT to play a Scholar.
Seriously it's a classic class from FF3 and one of my favorites, I love Scholars unique looks.
