There is probably something in your nvidia control panel that will allow you to do this. Idk.. ive been using an AMD for the last 3 years. If there isnt there are lots of 3rd party tools to do this with. Check in your nvidia control settings first. Then if they don't have something built in just google "nvidia overclocking tool".

Here is a link to some nvidia software that should help:

The Core Clock. You can under clock the mem clock but it usually is not the culprit if you do I would only take this down a little bit.

You told us that you monitor the temp of your GPU... but what about your CPU? and what is the temperature?

I'm leaning more towards a faulty PSU, though.

If it was a CPU overheating issue it would show that as an event in the event viewer.

Lol I didn't look through the log. XP

I don't see the point in downclocking his GPU though. 600w is plenty for his system.

The downclock is simply to test if it is a PSU issue. He does indeed have enough power. But that assumes his PSU is working properly, and up to its stated wattage. If the GPU gets downclocked, and the computer no longer shuts down. It is clearly a power issue (because we already know the gpu isnt overheating). I am not telling him to downclock as a solution. I am telling him to downclock as a test to confirm my suspicion as to what the real problem is.
