Download CPU-Z. This program gives details about your system specs. Using this you should be able to fill in all the fields for the website the other individual linked.

    http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

Make sure you select 1 physical CPU since even if you have a quad core since its still all on 1 physical chip.

The shut down and start up errors dont point to anything specifically. They do hint that the computer might be loosing power, but nothing to confirm that that is the real issue.

What are you doing when it shuts down?
Does it restart after shutting down, or do you have to push the power button to turn it back on?

The kernel power event ID 41 error occurs when the computer is shut down, or it restarts unexpectedly. When a computer that is running Windows starts, a check is performed to determine whether the computer was shut down cleanly. If the computer was not shut down cleanly, a Kernel Power Event 41 message is generated.

An event 41 is used to report that something unexpected happened that prevented Windows from shutting down correctly. There may be insufficient information to explicitly define what happened. To determine what may have happened and to identify a potential resolution, it is important to know what the computer was doing at the time just before the event occurred.

If event 41 is logged because power to the computer was interrupted, consider obtaining an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) such as a battery backup power supply. An underpowered or failing power supply may cause this behavior. For example, if you added RAM or additional devices or hard disks when this problem began, the power supply may cause the problem. You can also simply replace or upgrade the existing power supply.

Because it is not fireing an event at the time of the shut down we can assume its not the system shutting itself down to protect it self. I am almost positive it is your PSU not providing enough power, or constant power flow.

You can replace and upgrade your PSU, or as a temp fix you can underclock your GPU to make it use less power (Amusing the PSU is working properly and not faulty).

i have a few UPS's around the house, it had always been hooked into one untill last week. but worked fine plugged into the surge protector i have untill now. I'll get the UPS and try that again. if that doesnt work, i guess I'll have to upgrade. dont know where I'm gonna get that money. by the way, i used that site, said i only needed 481 W to run my setup. my PSU is an Xtreme Gear XG-P600. is that a crappy one? 1 rail? i cant find out online yet. do you know?

Remember to also fix your Vid card drivers. Make sure your computer gets a proper restart after uninstalling the AMD drivers, then another proper restart after reinstalling the Nvidia ones. I hope the UPS band-aids your issue. But if your system is only using 481w, on a 600w psu it might be that the psu itself is getting ready to die. Also.. lower quality psu's almost never put out their advertised wattage.

If you are on a budget check back to newegg every day. They have deals on good PSU's all the time. I got mine 50% off there.

Lawl.. that psu is probably overkill, but whatever works right? A dual rail 750w PSU should handle all your mid performance gaming rig needs. Remember to make sure the PSU you buy has any connections required by your vid card. Most mid range cards require 1 - 2 6pin or 8pin connectors. Most psu's have them but it is possible to accidentally buy one without them.

think I found a pic of the label on the side of that 600W model:

Look familiar? Unfortunately, can't tell if that is SLI/Xfire or 80-Plus certified. So, that may very well be your problem---especially if it isn't certified. Uncertified units don't have a confirmed level of output under extreme conditions (high loads and/or high heat), and tend to degrade at a much faster rate. For instance, a certified 600 watt almost guarantees you will get 480 watts out of it under high load or a hot environment--a lesser quality may only be able to deliver ~400 under the same rigorous conditions.

Might want to check on that with the one you found at Newegg too. If it doesn't have one of those certifications, it may start to give you problems after you've run it hard for a bout a year or so and you will need to replace it again.
