Oh I get it no worries, however it's clearly a speculation right? And read it again:
Eeeaaasssyyyy Zenaku ;D
I'd really like to play this on Wii stream! Honestly XIV with touch screen macros would be awesome. I hate the action bar with a controller it's so horrible in every way possible.
Actually the bulky ps3 can run ffxi due to the backwards compatability. While ps3 slim doesn't have that. XBL is the same since the 360 was introduced and has 2 version Silver the free dumb down version and gold the premium version. SE doesn't want ffxiv to be run with gold due to forcing customers to pay 2 times inorder to play ffxiv. Which is why no 360 launch. The semi mmo PSU does run on the 360 but requires a gold membership. Also The Secrete World is said to be on the 360 also, and will most likely require a gold membership also.
@ Zen. Stop speaking for everyone. I've been wanting to play ffxiv on the ps3 since 09 E3. I only got ffxiv CE after finding out ps3 got delayed due to the ram issues. I'm having a hard time enjoying ffxiv, not because of the game. But the fact I must play in my families kitchen which gets too much traffic. I can barely enjoy myself while getting teased by family members. Also why should only PC users get to enjoy MMO? I like MMO's but I'm not a big PC user.
it's not speculation SE said it in a interview they said it would take way to long to make it for ps3 so we came up with a new game ffxiv as a ps3 port.
@Kilta_Firelotus: yes but that still running on the PS2 version not a true PS3 port. I'm speaking for the most player base who was waiting for PS3 due not having a good PC. I never said it should only be for PC but if it was then we could enjoy the game for a very long time and not have limit like how FFXI got. We never see the mission area in FFXI which could bring FFXI back to life but due to PS2 that wont happen and guess what it going to happen one day for ps3 but i guess by then we have FF17 online lol.
Why do you even play in the kitchen? it's a laptop is it not? that seem some what weird if i have laptop good enough to play ffxiv on low setting i can even sit outside and play ffxiv.
@Seif i agree i would love a port for the new Nintendo system i mean They did have FF first it be nice if they have XIV on it at least FFXIV![]()

I don't think so Simple due to what Sony has been doing.
Sony has an Online part called Sony Online Entertainment. They have 2 mmo now on the ps3, DCUO And free realms. DCUO when I played was late on every update and holiday event. They made it so you can lvl up in 3 days but really have limited content. The only soon to be released mmo out for the 360 (maybe) is Secret World (according to wiki the guy said it has no ties to "the longest journey" but stories are identical sorta looks good from what I seen)
@ zen the only reason ffxi slowly died is because of the game itself not the "limitations". Which they kinda fixed by how the game gets updated, which it is still getting updates. And tons of people still play. Just most ppl didn't stick to it because there were other games out which for them was better, or the die hard fan from everquest era didn't like game becoming more user friendly. People mostly want a fun game. I know tobs of ppl who play on MUD or still play eq2. And obliviously there is GW. All those game haven't really had any tech updates. Only limitations I see are space issues since a consule doesn't run like a pc.

inventory Limitations
AH 7 sell limitations
Adding new models design Limitations
Mog House Expansion limitations
Go to http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/forum.php
and you see player asking for something and the dev say they can't do it and it because of the ps2 limitations lol
So yes console does mess up the game play for other once the said console reach it limits

ITT:
People who want a game that can't even survive on its CURRENT platform.. coming out for multiple platforms...
Also a ton of people reporting rumors as facts......
/topic
When did anyone ask for this game to be release for the new console right now? lol the new one would be release somewhere Q1-Q2 of 2012 which this game should be fix by then and if it not then i feel sorry for SE and FFXIV.
Nintendo new system is coming out 2012 the only rumor is Xbox but am sure they have a 2013 or 2014 release then come PS4 around the same time. So yes there are fact not rumor for the nintendo and even going to be display at E3 this year.
For everyone "Seem like it got to the point you can't make a topic without people coming up with the most negative post" if you got noting good to say about the topic at hand for the future of ffxiv then don't even post on it.
and please stay in topic.

it a rumor nothing morehttp://uk.gamespot.com/news/6311897/...-memory-no-hdd
Apparently it won't have a hard drive, so I doubt a port would be possible.
