RO did not have an abundance to do on startup. Hell it still doesn't even have much to do other then the standard mindless korean grind. Tera while a great combat game has a fraction of the content that this game has. The whole reason I started playing this game was because Tera never really got any content. Which saddens me as I absolutely adore the fighting system in Tera.
It took months before you become level 99 (max level) on top of that monsters drops fashion items and cards that you can use to upgrade your weapons and equipments, what do monsters in ARR drop? crafting materials worth nothing
Yeah months of kill this monster type over and over and over non stop. Then there was LOD which was the same except in party format where someone with a macro casting SG could basically sleep and get exp. I will admit biolabs was at least somewhat interesting but it was doomed to teh same overly repetitive grind.
What you're doing is confusing slow and tedious with fun and varied. RO was slow and tedious like most old school Korean games.
Keep in mind I say this as a guy who had a scholar and multiple 99s. I was also in the early USRCs and I was in Wild Blades on Chaos.
It was not slow and tedious, in fact it was challenging and meaningful, and there was a sense of fulfillment in getting to level 99 because you're awarded with an Aura, not to mention that even the normal mobs like Deviruchi would drop something as valuable as Demon Wings, cards drop from monsters used to insert and upgrade equipments, fashion headgears, etc. there is the thrill and excitement of grinding, compare to ARR, what do monsters drop? nothing of value, nothing exciting, just worthless crafting materials of no value
