FFXIV for New "Nintendo/Xbox"

not a option here, I am not gonna spend k kr (danish currency) just for the window to play game, also as someone in this forum said before, it is possible to run in the game in window intall in bootcamp but it wont be as good as run the game in pure os x

wont happen on an xbox without microsoft changing their policy on how xbl operates which they have no intention of changing.

If it does end up on xbl it'll be segregated and you wont be playing with everyone else which goes against what Square enix wants.

Unless Microsoft and Nintendo go through several organizational changes(I.E. MS isn't so restrictive about what can and can't be on their online platform and Nintendo finally figuring out how to get on the internet), I doubt this will be happening any time soon.

SE is trying to stay away from POL. Which is the only reason XI worked on XBL.

From how I understand it the POL Servers that 360 players connect too are inside the XBL intranet and then once connected you are allowed to tunnel into the XI server which is in the SE intranet.

XIV doesn't work that way as theres no third party between the game and the user its FFXIV or nothing. The only way Microsoft will allow a game to be online on the XBL architecture is for the server that it connects to to be inside the XBL intranet which means on their hardware in their facilities. They want to prevent as much possible backdoor access to the internet as possible.

So they have to take permits from Xbox Live or nothing will happen.

Xbox could change by the next xbox which would allow SE to put ffxiv on it and the new Nintendo could easy run FFXIV and they could change how it work also to be more main stream with the other two console.

FFXI was going to be release for WII but due to the friendlist issue with it they could not release it don't know much info on that.

But remember the point of this topic is if they could release it do you guys want new XBOX and Nintendo to have it. I for one would love to have more ways to play FFXIV on.

Also i hoping FFXIV get a release for mac and linux OS they said they going to but i guess that be for later.

@Renshi: Yes if ffxiv get release for the new xbox you have to pay for xbox live not if m$ allow players to play on the xbox without it like they did for ffxi which they wont.

well you used to have to pay for live and ffxi, but they changed it later on so you didnt need gold

Eventually they will make FFXIV for 360 and the new nintendo console. After all they did make FFXI for 360. It all depends on how sucessful the PS3 release will be but for sure it would be a good move for SE to have the game on as many plaforms as possible.

That fits. When they released the Kinect they said it would add 2 years to the life of the 360 so the "leaked" 2013 release would fit that timeline.

I prefer Xbox720 to Xbox360 2.
