This thread needs more attention.
This thread needs more attention.
I'm just excited that they plan on doing this at all. It will be great when they get it in, but there is a whole lot to be done to improve this game in more impactful areas and that is where the attention is going, thankfully.
I'm glad they are aware it is something the community wants, though.
I would give anything for vanity slots in 2.1 I'm tired of looking like a clown.
I haven't been this embarrassed about how a character looked since WoW's BC patch >_> I can't believe 1.0 made it the entire time without having what's become a pretty standard addition to AAA MMOs these days 0_o
Gamebreaker = A bug or specific item you cannot get anymore (didn't pick it up and can't go back) that makes it IMPOSSIBLE to continue the game
Looking ugly = losing interest in your character/game (still POSSIBLE to continue)
I just want Vanity in ASAP(even if not in time for 2.1)
So much of the caster gear is dull or horribly mismatched so I want to be able to keep the few detailed outfits around as long as possible.
Add me to the list.
Add me to the list...
And guys, don't hate us for wanting to look good and pretty. We deserve it!
Honestly the worst part of all is well, fixing gear you really hate how it looks like, (or looks horrible to most, which I doubt is the case) But most importantly of all... so we don't all look the same... we are NOT storm troopers!!! Nor hmm... sith clones for those casters around. xD
SIGN ME UP! And thanks for the update SE guy. Appreciate it, even if it's not the answer we are looking for :3 Thanks for being honest and open! Don't quit that >_>
EDIT: "And guys, don't us for wanting to look good and pretty. We deserve it!" Adding the word I missed.... lol, (it's in kjashd thingy)

Sign me up. Can we also start a petition to close that stupid thread about making characters butts bigger? lol

I usually like to have myself in the highest tier gear, but sometimes a mismatch is extreme enough that one or two things I feel needs to be adjusted.
Not only that, if you are on this argument that it is hard to tell in dungeons if someone is well geared or not, isn't the ilvl requirement in dungeons being implemented in 2.1 enough of a system to show that the person entering at least meets minimal requirement?
Like to leave one final argument. The helmet on Heavy Darklight Armor is so horrendously ugly that I feel that alone is argument enough that a vanity system should exist in this game, where aesthetics itself is a really big deal to a JRPG community. It would be nice to switch on the PLD or WAR AF in place till I get something better looking like Allagan to put there. The armor is so damn ugly, but the stats are too great to skip. May I suggest in the future to keep all jobs on a 5/5 main body slots? Its a hassle when you wear a two-for-one piece and you get an upgrade to one and you deal with a lower level of the other till you get an appropriate piece for that slot also. Its not that you cannot work around it, but all you accomplished in doing this is confuse people and force them to wear helmets that are not optional to hide. You know how much better that Heavy Darklight Armor would be if the helmet was gone? Hell they even have a pic of similar looking armor without the helmet and it is just gorgeous:
*Funny the LNC is wearing MNK gear*
Just sad they even have concept work of it, kind of a punch in the gut to me, haha. Ohh well though, i'll get out of that body piece eventually when an Allagan piece drops. I just hope SE takes into consideration in the future how two-for-one pieces can potentially cause problems for players.
Just to add on more. I know green tier gear shouldn't be a well thought out or unique design (referring to ilvl60 gear in AK), but seriously, why does it look like gear you get from lv.1-15? There is lv.20/30/40 dungeon gear that looks much better than this. In the future SE, please take into consideration that people who are at max level like to look like they are to some extent. You don't have to go out of the way to make unique looking gear for us, but the gear rehash in AK is beyond the extreme. I know other MMO's use this technique to influence you to want to go after the better looking gear, but at least they kept your style in the appropriate range.

Signed! My character looks absolutely ridiculous right now. :/
I think nobody would mind if they just allowed /hood on everything and /visor for DL. The stats are good, but not being able to show your face or the choice of having a helmet, after we spent all that time creating our character exactly how we wanted him, is silly.Signed.
This thread can almost come down to being a "DL is fugly" thread with the amount of similar comments. Evidentally, whomever designed that outfit missed badly. We could always go to star wars mmo if we want to look like dark sith lords could we not? I'm disappointed by all the hooded coats in the game though. I wish they looked a bit less like something a beggar would wear, and something more magey having bigger hoods and being more form fitting.
I also think it's possible that they had to find a quick solution to high iLevel gear for the legacy players coming in. I think they expected to have more time to come up with this stuff before having to completely redo the graphics engine. Doing a texture swap on the existing plate and hooded gear, for example, is incredibly easy to do. Balancing the stats and getting the content out to players and the game itself was probably their first priority.
