Is this materia supposed to be this expensive? wth.

That's why the jacket was sure to win the prize. The judges must be like "oh it's just a HQ jacket... OMG that's a 50K materia! First place all the way!"

you need it right? that answer your question.

You're gonna be spending way more than that to get the AF gear for it.

It doesn't. Quests check for specific materia and not the stats.

You don't need to farm potash to make money as a LTW. :-\

Start selling various leathers - HQ them if possible. They'll sell like hotcakes. Especially Aldgoat and Toad Leather.

Sell gathering gear. Gatherers don't get the best gear from their quests, and there are often gaps. Shoes, gloves, and hats can really add to your bank.
