I prefer running it with my FC, cause ppl expect you to understand dungeons in and out almost perfectly the first time doing it, before your first time runing a dungeon you have to research it, figure out strategies to beat the boss and so on.

I prefer my first time to be with friends or FC/LS and go in and learn while i go through. What is the point of googling everything if its your first time?

I also don't understand why ppl say if this is your first time "google it" and find out boss strategies to beat it, and than don't like it when you tell them what happens at the end of a video game or movie that they tell u they wanna watch cause they wanna watch it and they don't want you to "spoil" it for them. Well what do you think you are doing to the person that is new by making them google it? You are spoiling the dungeon for them. Cause it's there first time running it, they have never done it before. Yet even if they have never done it before, they now know 100% of the dungeon without ever stepping one foot in there.

I don't mind doing a little light reading before heading into a dungeon. Most of the time I can even justify it from my character's perspective because what adventurer in their right mind would wander into a dungeon without first finding as much information as they can about it. I just don't want to inadvertently spoil a story element for myself. That said, I don't expect people to have read up but I do expect them to say that they're new when I ask and listen when I do go over strategies. There's no excuse for essentially being a troll.

*this really only applies to the level 50 dungeons/raids
Teach people that say 'first time here' or STFU. If you can't be bothered to take the time to teach them, what gives you the right to expect them to take the time to study vids and go looking up strats? One good 'I can't be bothered' deserves another. Sure, one does one's self a favor to look these things up beforehand, but one also does one's self a favor to take a few seconds to type 'Ok, this boss: phase 1 is tank and spank, starting at 25% he'll fly over and breath frost across 1/3 of the floor. Starting at about 50% on he'll do this twice at a time and start leaving frost patches all over that you'll have to avoid. Questions?"

"Yeah. Does he have a big stupid cleave?"

"Yes he does; frost breath. The tank should point his face away from the rest of the party, and the rest of us should make this easier for the tank to do as much as we can."

    "Ok. Ready!"

Fight on. That's all it takes; I know, I do it all the time.

There is no boss fight you can't explain rather simply and quickly, if you mean to. The hardest one I can think of to explain would probably be the last boss in Qarn, 'cause some of the fiddly bits can take some elaborate description to adequately describe in useful fashion (Usually its best to hit it once so new folks can see what you mean, even if it means wiping it once or twice so they can see rather than having to read a fangry novel about it).

You want better people to play with, especially at 50? Teach them. If you don't...really now, you're not really doing anything to solve your own problem then, are you? And you're being worthless to them too. Grats.

Wiping is part of the learning experience. It always have been, in all games, before guides were even made.

But showing up to dungeons well undergeared, is just bad tough. I've seen people in Titan HM, wearing lv 19 white rings.... Thats just not good enough!

As someone that does look up boss mechanics before going into a dungeon. I still tell people that it is my first time. Reading about and experience it are not the same.

Why would you want to ruin the surprise and sense of adventure for a first-timer? Some like MMOs for the very sense of discovery and the large extent of those that they can provide in comparison to other games. Dying, wiping, having to try again is all okay. People learn from their mistakes and most often gladly listen to the tips during a dungeon. It'll just take a while longer to reach the end if KOs occur. Expecting a first-timer to powergame is just plain virulent.

Before I did all my end game dungeons and HM primal battles I watched video guides on Youtube first. I think its only fair to not be a deadweight in the group. The information is out there to be seen/read. You won't be perfect on your first run but at least you will have the general idea of how the battle is. Which can save you from some damage or wiping.

No need for advice from anyone these days. Google it and 90% of the time you'll find an answer.
As for boss fights / Dungeons, again, with todays' internet, get on you tube and check out any and every fight before hand. That way you come prepared. Sure it's nice to experience things first hand but it's nice to know what you're up against before you waltz in blindly.
