I always look up walkthroughs before going in, and tend to groan to myself when someone in group asks for info on the fight. On the otherhand, dropping group because someone says they're new or haven't "studied" up enough is also absurd. Just roll with it and be a decent person.

It's really not that hard, being decent.

    Well sorry.

But there exists players who don’t want the dungeon/bosses spoiled. I want to be surprised and amazed of what I'm up against and learn through Trial and Error.

One of my examples would be "the Praetorium", my first group which had 2-3 rushers that want to get through quickly so they can farm Tomestones, they kept saying skip CS please and that I could watch the CSes in the Inn.
So I skipped them so they could be happy. But guess what, the scenes are dungeon specific and can NOT! be viewed in the Inn.
So the last dungeon was a bit ruined for me because I had no idea what "Twists" that happened.
So guess what I did, I queued up and again and this time I watched all CSes without skipping, and didn't give the slightest fuck about the rushes. I want my story and that's that.

If it’s too much to ask to experience the game in this way then go join a FC that focuses on End-game stuff and make pre-made teams with people that know what-to-do instead of using duty finder where first timers will be a lot.

Its too late now, but you can scroll down further on the cutscene viewer and select the "duty" section. Then if you select Praetorium down near the bottom, you can view all the cutscenes that wasn't in the main scenario section. Personally I would never tell someone to skip a cutscene, but you CAN view them at the inn.

Pro tip- besides getting red in the face, raging with tears and their eyes and rolling their face across the keyboards, the players QQing about you watching cutscenes really can't do crap to you. What are they going to do: report you for griefing because you decided to play the dungeon the way it was meant to be played? Good, I hope they do! They can enjoy their couple day ban for abusing the ticket system and wasting the GMs time

If you want to watch cutscenes, watch them. Let the ragers rage and the haters hate. At the end of the day, it's not worth spoiling your gameplay to save them less than 3 minutes on their run.

Watching cut scenes, I agree to let people watch them. Not taking 5 minutes to research boss mechanics makes you look like an ass when you "go in blindly" and become the cause of repeated wipes and wasting other peoples time, not to mention the repair costs.

Reading up on boss mechanics doesn't spoil the encounter, however, not reacting appropriately when you need to because you don't know what is going on is sure to make the rest of the group dispise you.

Take initiative, know your role, and do your part. No one wants to carry you through on their backs.

Maybe I am misstaking the OP's statement, but i do not think he is telling you to watch the fight first. He is simply pointing out that by 50 you should understand basic boss mechanic, Boss will cleave, don't stand in front of it, red (or other ground effects) are bad so move out of it, basic things that if followed in most all bosses will be killed with minimal wipes.

People who dont get this are in need of larger fights, and people who can not go into a fight, see the mechanics and learn how to adjust to them need to go watch the video or read the strat to get though it. You know before 50 if you fall into this category, and if you do, you need to improve which in many cases is watching videos to see how to deal with certain types of mechanics.

Just about everything in the game has a giant indicator so guides aren't really necessary the one exception is probably Titan because that fight is literally just memorizing a pattern of abilities for non-healers. People need to stop using full DF groups to farm.

I don't think that in modern theme parks doing research before a dungeon is really as necessary. Maybe if it were another EQ or something...

Agreed, even watching on youtube sometimes does not tell much, especially with commentary recorded on crappy microphones and "great" music in background.
