The opportunity cost of shield bash is too darned high

It would be great if it weren't on the global cooldown, but still trigger it. Sucks doing a basic attack chain and boss happens to do an eruption and you're stuck on the gcd. Having it off the gcd means paladins who spam it won't be able to get use out of it and shows better skill on those who can control it vs not, and lets players see who can perform better than others. Right now we have to throttle threat/actions vs stun and it's quite boring and/or frustrating.

If you spam it, the mob will eventually start to resist all stuns. Mobs kind of build a tolerance to stuns - the more you use it, the more their resistance to it grows.

This ability is super OPed right now, lol. I think most people here are mainly referring to the Ifrit fight - You lose a marginal amount of DPS (not a TON if you have your stunning pal use Sword Oath) to be able to completely negate the most difficult part of the encounter. Having unlimited access to stuns/interupts is unbelievable. Granted that particular strategy doesn't make for a fun time, but it is rewarding to be the person saving everyone else from certain doom.

Not too rewarding to be the person insulted to death when your Shield Bash is resisted because someone else is stunning, though...
