Some surprising data in regards to SMN dps vs BLM dps

Are SMNs top DPS? Possibly.

Are BLMs weak and need revamping, as some people in this topic suggest? Hell no. I'm in BC Turn 4 (not that big a deal, I know, but I've been through end-game) and not once in end-game have I felt gimped compared to other classes, especially when it comes to parser results. I'm usually forced to use Quelling Strikes to not rip aggro off a tank in full DL + relic in an extended fight, and this is over the duration of the fight, not nuking at the start.

Pretty much, after doing Coil for a few times, up to Turn 3, every class is solid. Melee has it a bit harder but all the ranged classes are just fine. Everyone is overly concerned with raw DPS numbers when it doesn't matter in the current end game. Just play the class you enjoy and move along, hopefully SE will change/buff some weaker or annoying classes. BLM having their procs on the GCD is a bit silly, just like MNKs having to worry about 3 stacks of greased lightning while constantly avoiding stuff in melee range and possible switching targets.
