I think the built in chance to be free for both Esuna and their Cures spells are to make up for their lack of active mp regen skills I think. I haven't got a white mage yet (just done my scholar to 50, doing up conj),

yeah I mean, consider that our preventive heals such as succor and adloquim are quite costly, buggy pet ai, and energy drain missing (60% of our regen gone as 2 energy drain recovers almost the amount of 1 Aetherflow) in end game, the gap would be close, with the higher healing amount whm has, I think the gap would be close. It's just my speculation. I do agree that in light party dungeons scholar's mana regen is far superior as compared to whm.
