Just kill the conflag like normal and eat the fireball stacks?

The waxen flesh is always still on when fireball casts... it drops right before it impacts.

We have never, ever had issues with it since we have used our modified strategy. Only one person ever in conflag, no issues killing it, and no issues soaking fireball.

Every Fireball up until this one was on time. This one, however, came early and would have landed before the previous stacks fell off, so the person who has it runs into the Conflag.
This is exactly what we're seeing, but much more often.

It sounds like your FC is just getting the encounter on easy mode or something, if this isn't happening to you.
