Wasn't gonna respond but /yawn it's so obvious when people don't read.So basically you're mad that FFXIV isn't FFXI? Yawn. I hated XI and I like XIV.
Quite honestly, I'll agree that EXP levels from FATEs versus dungeons need to be changed, and the market is in a constant rollercoaster state. But really, the game has only been out for a month, things are still stabilizing right now. The rest of your post is just opinionated whining from someone who seems to have LOVED FFXI and I can't agree with any of it.
Then it clearly went over your head, as that's not what they were saying at all. Their opinion can't really be "wrong," either.
You're right, I should have written that I "disagreed" with her opinions, rather than saying they were wrong. I still disagree with them though.
What do you mean? She seems to sing FFXI's praises several times through her post. I don't think it's far-fetched at all to come to the conclusion that she wants it to be more like FFXI. Some of her sections are straight-up about how aspects of XIV should be more like XI. Am I missing something here?
Yes, your missing the point where its a simple comparison a game which is unlike FFXIV, but could be used as a good catalyst for balance. My ultimate point was that a balance between what we have now, and FFXI would have been a great medium. You're right, I should have written that I "disagreed" with her opinions, rather than saying they were wrong. I still disagree with them though.

I also said many things, and all your doing is focusing on an assumption that all I wanted it to be was more like FFXI (which I even stated was not entirely the case). Even if they do what I say in my original post, and still make it nothing like FFXI, I'd have no issues with. Yet your writing me off as FFXI die hard and ignoring to take into compliance anything I have to say because of it. I believe you rushed through the post with the notion I was a FFXI die hard, wanted it like that, and therefore didn't really think or acknowledge anything I said. This is what you showed when you wrote your first post.
Okay. I still disagree: I think a fast-paced MMO like this is fantastic and I'm really enjoying it. Combat is deep enough to be enjoyable without being overly slow and nuanced (which would present a barrier to entry for the casual player, like myself - which is what happened with XI and SE wanted to avoid), 1-50 is sure slow enough for me as I've been playing quite a bit and I'm still not to 50, I think the world presented is quite well-designed but I will agree that it would be nice if it were larger, the market is still stabilizing and... that's about it. I disagree with most everything you put forward in your original post, and I still think you just want the game to be more like FFXI. I'm sorry that people disagreeing with you seems to be such a sore spot, but whatevs.
It's not the fact your disagreeing with me, its the tone and attitude you bring forth with it.Okay. I still disagree: I think a fast-paced MMO like this is fantastic and I'm really enjoying it. That being said, you like how the game is, and I can respect that. I don't believe you even said anything I said was wrong, what your actually doing is just "preferring" how it is now, over what I said and suggested, which again, is ok![]()
Well said.
I think the better game would lay somewhere between those two models as well.
FF14, though solid and enjoyable and certainly not a bad game - is ultimately little more than a WoW clone. I would have liked to see more innovation too.
