Here's a fun fact of the day: YoshiP stated before ARR even went into Alpha Testing that XIV ARR will be a Fanservice title, meaning this kind of stuff you knew would happen before you even touched the game if you kept up with info.
also this look pretty nice on the trailer video.. where only like 10 ppl are fighting with lightning.. make this event life.. it will be just a mindless spam fest like all the fates with 2533443 players zerging to it... and because the what stuff loads in the game. you probably wont be able to see lightning or the mobs lol.
HeavensWard theme song lyrics:
-"We can [Stance]dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't [Stance]dance
And if they don't [Stance]dance
Well they're no friends of mine"
I'm more excited for the prospect of other characters from earlier FFs showing up with an out of the way optional cameo. If you like FFXIII though I hope you enjoy the fate(s).
Did you play FFXIII or XIII-2? It makes perfect sense, Lightning crosses the Void/Chaos/Darkness/Whatever saving souls taking them from the Dying world onto the next. BOOM Crosses through the Void in XIV To Hydaelen. Brings some souls here as this world is not yet Dying.
That ties in both XIII Lore AND The XIV Lore pretty much fine. Stop ya crying. Also big egi's...screw that nobody can load FATE mobs if 30+ people are there with pets/Chocos I doubt full size Ifrits are gonna ease that out much do you?! It's really a non issue.
EDIT and as a Ninja Edit...Whos to say Louisoix didn't have a Similar sort of "Job" by Saving all the Legacy People?!Think outside the box people!
I don't think I'd mind Rico Rodriguez showing up in a FATE as long as people would win his grappling hook. Assuming that "Cuban guy from that sandbox game" is the Just Cause series. Pulling enemies toward you (or to them) from a great distance, and/or using it to traverse the world somehow, would be pretty neat, even if it broke the lore completely. They said Lightening showing up will fit lore. Though I don't like that they are only doing this to promote other Square Enix games. What's next after? Hitman? Lora Croft? Cuban guy from that sandbox game? I find all this to be as ridiculous as WoW's Mr. T crossover.
Unless they handwave it with the Void.
Indiana Jones Job (Or perhaps Kim Possible!) inc!! You called it dude!!I don't think I'd mind Rico Rodriguez showing up in a FATE as long as people would win his grappling hook. Assuming that "Cuban guy from that sandbox game" is the Just Cause series. Pulling enemies toward you (or to them) from a great distance, and/or using it to traverse the world somehow, would be pretty neat, even if it broke the lore completely.lol
As much as I love Lightning and have playing FF13 I absolutely love this event. However, why does SE decided to make every event FATES based now? I think it is just lazy design and some will never able to witness it, it just gonna be a quick Zerge fest, imagine almost an entire server will be on this thing make it you simply don't stand a chance or it will be over in second.
Why not turn it into a series Quest base with Battle Instance in between the fight? This way everyone can get a chance to participate, and enjoy the beautiful and awesome event you make at their own pace? I just hope all future event won't all be Fates, but it does seam like they are heading in this direction. How disappointing.
Given how much people toted that GW2's dynamic events were "THE NEXT STEP IN MMORPGS!" It shouldn't be surprising given how standard ARR is based on how everyone said that's the way MMORPGs should be. The Days of XI/XIV 1.x design is over since it's "proven to not work."
I'm sooo excited for this! I love Final Fantasy 13!![]()
Don't really care either way, FATE is broken and this one will be especially overrun. Foestriker's set > Snow/Lightning set any day.
13 was a horrible game anyway. Not sure about 13-2 as I haven't played it and would have to be sure it didn't suck as bad as the first before I even give it a chance.
