Gil cost for Teleport - Throwing money up in the air while casting?

So you accept the fact that you can be magically teleported from on place to another, but you can't accept the fact that your gil is magically teleported out of your pocket to whoever collects the gil?

Whats makes these crystals make so much more sense? the same questions can be made about your crystals. what happens to them when you teleport. Do they break? do they turn to dust? are they the actual portal? or do they just magically disappear?

Thank you, but I'd rather not have an inventory slot taken up by an item that makes no more or less sense then the current method, which doesn't take up an inventory slot.
