Down to two options help a brother out

Ok so I have played everything now and have decided between blm and war. Im worried that war is useless considering they are not used in hard modes end game and blm is my other option but its a dps and i feel like i wont be as needed.

Level both. Just switch to one when you get tired of the other or need a break. The game is designed so you can do everything on one character.

Personally, I'm planning to do BRD, MNK, WHM, SCH, WAR and PLD.

Play whichever you feel like playing, and join a Free Company (the player 'guilds' in FFXIV). ALL classes are used in Hard Mode games, you'll just run into the 'elitists' alot if your running solo. Get with a FC and play what you want, if they refuse to take you along, or help out on dungeon runs, then leave them and find one that will.

Thats really all there is to it. I play mainly a bard and while i have long wait times in the dungion finder (Because im a DPS and there's about a billion of us all trying to do stuff =) ), i still play it because its what i 'want' to play, and ask for help from people ive met in FFXIV or my FC when i need help with a dungion. I just cant make up my mind on what to play as an 'alt' of sorts.. hehe, got it narrowed down to either whm/blm, or Lancer/gladiator myself.

Honestly though. Play what you want to play. All classes are needed, Each has its own little nich, and such that others cant do. if nothing else, and your not to far along in your classes.. make a character on Cactuar and i'll group with ya on my low lvl conj so you can lvl up Mara/War =)

When I run dungeons I always seem to be waiting on a healer job type. Give SCH or WHM a try. I personally think healing is boring but WHM does get a AoE spell that does 500+ DMG to each target where I'm lucky to break 300 as a lvl 50 BLM with all AF gear. SCH looks nice but I have yet to try it out and see how it does. Every job is important but some are not as done as others and for dungeons that leads to long wait times.
