I just use the mark 1 for the first focus target. By the time that target is dead, I've generated enough threat on the remainder of the pack that it doesn't matter who the DPS starts punching.

I do this, and it's all that's needed.

The good DPS will attack whatever has the tag. I say they should be attacking what I attack next, but I do have the tendency to tab-target, and I know some DPS are just used to tanks spamming their AoEs. It's a precaution more than anything.

Training wheels? Okay, crazy lady. Hey, I bet you don't use Shield Oath, cooldowns or food either, do you? Because I'm sure only a real tank can get away with not using any of that sissy nonsense. Hell, why even need healers, right? They're just for the pansy tanks.

    Target spell users first.
If you get hate, run toward me, not away.
    1) Goes without saying.
    2) I'll do this if you promise not to tab your way through 3 enemies.
    3) I think I'll just pick your Shield Lob target, instead of trying to decide which of your tab-targets has the lowest hp and assuming that this equals the most damage.
    4) Right. Though, I don't see sleeps often
    5) Not a problem. Just tell me which of the three casters you're going to have aggro on, and I'll get right to it.
    6) I try not to get hate, but if I pull aggro because I have to work around your tanking style, at least I know I'm in Provoke range. Either way, I'm just gonna stand there.

Or they are a WAR. Overpower can cure many sins that DPS may commit.

i only mark current focus target and there has never been an issue with my groups, most dps have the common sense to kill what is already dying / been started on
I'm also only a single-marker. If you can't figure out to kill the only mob I have marked then I cannot help you, go and die in whatever manner you see fit. When the marked mob dies, I move the mark to the next mob I want killed. This works at least 95% of the time, so I'll call it a successful method.

I always do full marks because you occasionally get that healer who will use sleep and for me they tend to sleep the lowest marked mob. Also I do it because I know some dps are really slow to react about possibly switching targets so it's better to give them a full dps by numbers guide. Not to mention it helps me correct an mistakes I might make while pulling.

The really good PLDs don't use Shield Oath in Amdapor Keep... they use Sword Oath and speedrun it.
Remember, we're talking about TRASH mobs here.

Nothing worse then getting a few pulls in after waiting in the queue for 90+ mins and the Tank bails out because they are ethier too lazy to mark mobs and they wake up slept mobs which then get them killed because they can't help themsleves or are too lazy to repostion, blame healers for lack of healing on mobs that one shot that tank and blame lag for thier poor tanking skills. I could add 100+ more reasons here, but I won't.

Yes this seems to happen alot, just remember, the rest of us don't get instant pops.
If it benefited the tanks I would sign up, lead ,sign use etc. most of the tank would agree to this thats how it is.

This is when they need tank that can take on more mobs SE needs to give us control enmity because theres none flash don't cut it sorry when you got Acharey class's and summoners spamming dots or banes for summoners. (instant most of the fights I'm in) As one user suggested we need to do all that to get enmity they have screwed up on enmity big time for groups of mobs.

then from there its a simple ( "Flash" > "Fast Blade" > "Riot Blade") till the mobs go down to manageable numbers.
