Calculated optimal Myth spending for BRDs

Used this equation to calculate dmg. [((0.0032 x DEX + 0.4162) x WD) + (0.1 x DEX – 0.3529) + ((DTR – 202) x 0.035))] x (1 + (0.5 x (0.0693 x CRT – 18.486)/100))

Skill speed is not calculated through this so they will vary slightly with skill speed.

The following numbers are dmg increase per myth spent (Note: Ring is compared to AK ring as only one DL/AF+2 ring is available)

Ring - .00497

Legs - .004304

Gloves - .004079

Belt - .003814

Chest - .003395

Helm - .003351

Boots - .003267

Weapon - .003232

Neck - .003078

Ear - .003022

Bracer- .001597

TL;DR The order you should upgrade your gear to Myth gear is Ring>Legs>Gloves>Belt>Chest>Helm>Boots>Relic+1>Neck>Earrings>Bracers

Don't forget the bracelet. Looking at xivdb, it looks like the Allagan feet, necklace and bracelet are better than the myth options so I'd probably hold off on them in hopes of Coil drops.

Sorry about forgetting the bracers. The bracers are .001597 making them the worst upgrade.

Probably also worth considering which items from myth points are best in slot. It would make more sense to purchase items that will never be replaced.

EDIT: This formula also doesn't value skill speed and accuracy which is obviously going to undervalue the weapon, which is stacked with both.

I made a quick spreadsheet comparing the 'item value' increase per myth point using modified Chocobro stat weights (1 crit = 1 acc, 1 crit = 3 skill speed) and the results are a little different. It also considers the gap between Myth and Allagan.



Using this example we can see that the gloves are both the most efficient use of points and the best in slot by a larger margin than any other item. The head is also slightly more efficient than the weapon however is only equal to an Allagan drop (I would argue slightly worse), whereas the weapon is best in slot. Note that an argument could be made for further reducing the value of accuracy in the stat weights since the cap is so easy to reach.

Well yeah if you want to plan around getting an Allagan weapon. Ultimately we can see that the weapon is a good use of Mythology points regardless, really only second to gloves and potentially the head. Moving the stat weights around might change this a little.
