As for the world content, it's meant for solo play. This isn't FFXI where they make every little bit of the game a complete tedious nightmare to complete.
The challenging group content comes once you start getting to Titan hard Mode.

If we keep the newbie mmorpg in mind, then say the challenging group content start at titan is a not wrong but not right either, it start at ifrit, but since the newbie get guide by exp in DF or the exp in their FC, ifrit and garuda become a bit easy until titan. W7o those guide, a newly group will get wipe a few time before they can get hang on ifrit and garuda.
and atm on NA/EU, garuda DF is highly chance to wipe, compare to ifrit
note: I only quote this because I agree with the first

I totally agree, the game is way to easy between lvls 1-50. It's making players teribad at the game, and not learning proper etiquette in battle. The fact they made Fates which is nothing more than mindless button mashing, the best way to lvl as well, makes people shoot to lvl 50 in a few days, than do primals and dungeons, which just makes it even worse.Does anyone else feel Yoshi P dumbed this game down too much? The battle system gets very boring after playing it for a little bit and look at FATES they are just face rolling Zergs. The only partying to do in the game is the instances and that is another flaw in the game 90 percent of the game is instances add some damn world content and don't make the world content SOLO.
And I agree again, by lvl 50 like I said above. The game should be gradually getting more difficult between levels 1-50 not suddenly hard, then suddenly easy again. The game teaches you nothing until level 50. This has a massive flaw in the logic. By level 50 you should know what to do and how to play your class, not learning it then.1-50 should never be excusable as a tutorial. I understand this game is catering to non MMO players because they need money, but the issue becomes that by level 50 people still don't know how to play properly when the difficulty spikes (not to mention it's just boring to have such a low difficulty curve). Game is way too easy in my opinion.
Mute point. But I'll explain why... This thread is about levels 1-50, not End game.
Only reason Hard primals are hard, is more or less because the primals have tricky AOE's, and are hard hitters in and of themselves. This is the only reason its difficult. Apart from that, the game mechanics even for hard primals are dumbed down. Especially (forgive me) when compared to end game of FFXI back before Abysea. When you not only had to know the Bosses every tricks, but had to keep tabs on party members, their skills, your cds (which don't matter in FFXIV due to how fast they are), and countless other timers all at once.
Waaaay too dumbed down. First the gear roulette. Now the echo buff. Anyone else seen similar systems before?
Yep! you got it! wow!! Incoming welfare epics (nm already have those) incoming dailies! (ack, those are here too)
Im not really sure what makes wow bad that FFXIV hasnt already taken/used. AH system, duty finder, instancing, instant travel, no death penalty... its exactly what the wow kids wanted. An updated prettier wow 2.
Any purists out there, does the name Brad McQuaid mean anything to you? Good, now head over to kick starter and check out Pantheon. Its what Vanguard would have been had kickstarter been around :P McQuaids new game directed directly at us as per his directive to the supporters.
Hardest part will be being patient. I already donated 100 dollars. Will stay here to enjoy all the satisfaction that comes from being right... and to kill time, but just like wow kept me around for much longer than it should have due to no alternatives.. this will likely do the same.
to the OP, in short.. Yes! of course! Compare FFXI to this. I bet the Japs are having conniptions as we speak. Perhap's id fit in better there. Today's kids/generation are so entitled and emasculated.. its all about rude, selfish, instnat gratification.
/rant off
(had to split up last post due to 1000 character limit. WTH?! GL writing a guide or tutorial or anything analytical /sigh)
Vanguard would have been what it should have been, if McQuaid didn't have a drug and alcohol problem and blow all his money on pills and cars... It had nothing to do with funding... They would have given him the money he needed if he actually had been working on a product at the time instead of screwing around. He checked into rehab within days of Vanguards launch and failure. He never even showed up once at the office for the entire last year of Vanguards development according to former Sigil employees. He was too busy getting blitzed and squandering the companies money. I can't believe people are actually giving him money again for his new venture.Waaaay too dumbed down. First the gear roulette. Now the echo buff. Anyone else seen similar systems before?
