hm it is faster by a bit i see, but is it worth triple of what NQ sells for if you sell (as it is being sold on my server), probably not. Not because of the gamble at least. If the stuff at least had that better chance of turning into a higher grade like they said it would then perhaps.

You likely have to SB ilvl 55 stuff to get IV Materia, I've gotten IV from Aetheryte Rings so far. An ilvl 50 ring has 0 chance to be IV though. Will always be Tier III. Also, like Issac, I have little issue churning out HQ parts to SB.

I'm aware of that, but the chance is extremely low, close to non-existant. one guy said 30% but I'm sure its much lower. I've converted many ilvl55 gear and haven't gotten a single IV. Its something I'm not going to waste my time continuing to try. With Crystal tower/ilvl80 around the corner, and the ability to get ilvl90 with some courage, it isn't a very good way to spend my time in ARR.

And if you didn't agree with me, that Darklight Armor would probably be Darksteel armor, and you would be relishing in the awesomeness of your crafted gear. But you arent.... A small % of people bother with the shit, and on legacy servers the only people doing any relishing in the ilvl70 crafted are those who had materials left over from 1.0. You can go play a game of "spot the crafted" and find out who all are actually settling for darklight, which is good enough. And What sells like hotcakes for hot prices is the materia for relic weapons and perhaps vit materia for those casters who want more HP from their lowly crafted rings.

Because of the retarded stat caps, the value of other materia like str materia just isn't there, and crafting and gathering materia, especially gathering materia, just plain takes too damn long to create. They put +1 spiritbond on the best crafted crafter rings, but it still takes forever. Meteor survivor ring, still takes forever. Add patriots choker and wristband, still takes forever. Fact is they slowed down the rate of spiritbonding tremendously, and refused to account for how long crafters and gatherers take to spiritbond before the change. They do things like this.
