As a quick aside, I have a lot of experience in this. I have observed for days on end, spiritbonding on crafting, gathering, and battle classes. In every case, HQ items always, always SB'ed faster.

Now my foot is in my mouth about the 50% statistic as that's a rough guesstimate. It might be 33%. In any case, it is most certainly faster SBing HQ gear. Significantly so.

It is indeed faster, though like you, I don't know how much faster. Just wish I could get some Tier IV Crafting/Gathering Materia. Converted like 10+ of the ilvl 55 Wrists, most HQ, and not a single IV.
