Skipping Cut Scenes in Dungeons

"Gamers" that don't think gameplay is the most important part of a game should go watch a goddamn movie. And how does me criticizing the story have anything to do with me being a hypocrite? Christ, it's one thing to be ignorant, but this is on a whole new level.

Ok, and Metal Gear Solid revolutionized video games because it allowed people to skip all the cutscenes. You're basically telling people that the story doesn't matter because it's irrelevant and cliche and then call me ignorant because I say you're wrong and everyone has every right to experience the storyline.

I'm not denying I said the story was cliche, but I never said it was irrelevant. I said it was bad, I never said people shouldn't watch it. I said my POST was irrelevant. I also said that some intended things aren't always the 'best' things, or the right things - though this one I didn't say straight up. I said it oddly and kind of vaguely.

I think you need to learn to read, friend. We're clearly getting lost in translation here and is causing some aggression. I don't really want to argue, I already clarified my post - if you can't be bothered to read and understand I'm not going to get into this little argument. It's already gone far enough and I would rather just walk out of this being the bad guy than see it continue.

im sorry but if its your speed running something w/o a complete premade group you should be nice enough to let the ppl who are doing the instance the first time watch the cutscenes yea may mess up ure lttle speed run but who cares its not like the game is going anywhere

Couldn't the same be said about people saying i am watching cut scenes and you can leave if you don't like it? Either way it would be nice to have a story mode cm similar to guildhest and let other plow through it since you need a ton of runs to get darklight gear.

True, it could apply either way, but it seems like this argument is always over the people getting angry about the cutscene watchers, and really the game's design leans in their favor because if new players weren't meant to watch those cutscenes their first time through, the game would force you to skip or not have cutscenes at all and the game itself would simply tell you to go check it out in the inn later. On top of that, the game doesn't even force you to see the chatlog during cutscenes, meaning the game doesn't even let you communicate with them while they're watching a cutscene unless they choose to have the chatlog show up.

Yeah, it's valid to argue how SE should have made it/should change it, but as it stands right now, we clearly weren't meant to skip on our first playthrough.

Anywho, is that castrum whatever dungeon really the only instance you can run for darklight, or is it just the best one? I'm not saying you shouldn't run that dungeon for something that it drops, but if you don't want to wait on people watching lengthy cutscenes, it seems like they should make other instances drop them too if there aren't any.

If people want to watch cutscenes, that's fine. Wanna skip them? That's fine with me too. I wouldn't force people to watch or skip them, especially in a PUG. They could have avoided all of this if they just didn't put cutscenes in dungeons. I'm probably in the minority here, but I've never been a fan of cutscene heavy games. I don't mind the cutscene in the beginning, but I kind of wish they didn't have to interrupt the run with them. Just my opinion :3

I've already seen the cutcenes and as such skip them, but I'm not gonna tell everyone in the group to do so. I've toyed around with third-rate animation programs and even with those I know the massive amount of work it takes to put a cutscene together. Not to mention if the person wants to watch the CS in the relevant setting (and having my character show up in their CS), I don't see the harm in letting them do so.
