Players being jerks to other players isn't SE's problem so your entire post is a pointless.
If it equates to loss subscriptions, it's definitely their problem. Also, there are things SE can implement that would lower the hostility. IE pausing time for cut scenes, having 2 separate instances (1 story, 1 speed run)
Also, I am curious how they wanted the game to be played by someone experiencing it for the fist time. So no, my post isn't pointless.

I had a DF castrum run where were actually viewing the cutscenes. Know what I did?
I asked if there are first timers here, and when they said yes?
I said ok, and waited.
Now if there was someone literally holding the group up by being afk in a cut scene that's one thing, but there's more than enough time to go through the dungeon. I gain nothing by quitting CM or Praetorium.

I guess I got lucky, all through the end game dungeons I was able to watch all the cut scenes and down all the bosses our first try usually. And it was a Duty Finder group at that. Just happen to get a patient and well-headed group. ♡.♡

I say enjoy the cut scenes, you've earned them.![]()

I see a lot of people saying, "Don't tell others how to play their game." and while that's all well and good that kind of goes in reverse. You can't make anyone wait for you either. Even with DF it goes both ways. Want a group that will patiently wait for you before continuing? Get one together on your server. Yes, you can argue that the game was intended to be experienced a certain way, but that won't change people from playing it how they like. I skipped cutscenes myself since I was more interested in the combat than the scenes I can simply watch right after, but that's just me. If you want your group to act a certain way, get one together. You can't really be upset that DF pairs together people with differing play styles.
^ ALL of this.
I havn't reached end-game of FF14 yet, but when i get into the end-game dungeon scene of any MMO I consider myself quite the hardcore. I aim for precise, effective speed-running of dungeons; but that's the thing, I wouldn't force that upon a PUG I found with the DF, I'd assemble a regular group of like-minded individuals with the same goals and play style and keep them on friends list to run together as a regular team. Anyone who goes into the DF, forms a PUG and then tries to force their playstyle on an unwilling audience, and then gets upset when they actually want to do this properly, is the real "noob" in the situation and is a kind've player the community can do without.
If a speed-runner team needs additional members to fill slots, then what they should instead do is advertise in a city or two, that way they can brief potential applicants ahead of time that it will be a speed run, and it's through that kind've community interaction that you discover new members for your regular team too!

Oh good. There hasn't been one of these threads in the past couple hours. =/

Just watch them. If people want to rush the dungeon and wipe, let them. I never force anyone to skip them.
Are you an internet e-thug?
I laugh cause you fake. CX

I don't mind letting people watch cut scenes so long as they are willing to skip them if time is running low.
