It's a cute idea but I don't know that it is going to tackle the main offenders of disruptive or offensive behavior. Those individuals tend not to be the sort that are interested in purely fun or aesthetic benefits. Unless this system allows players, which I certainly hope it does not, to buy powerful gear that is going to help their character I don't think your average Leeroy Jenkins will give it much thought.

out of pure curiosity, what would be the harm in players being able to turn in "MVP" points for gear?

players may already turn in "tomestones" for gear, so the precedent is already set...

And in fact, I'd be much more supportive of an "MVP" system where people are actually rewarded by the game and other players for skillful play, as opposed to the current system where people can apparently earn said tomes by idling in a dungeon. But I was under the impression that SE WAS adding a system that would encourage players to use more "in-demand" classes like tanks and such in duty finder stuff already. I think I read that on either the Mogcast or Eorzeapedia. It could have been that MVP system, though.

At any rate, I really hope SE takes the current duty finder and player stats and worries as feedback for what type of class they should add next. Maybe they should add a melee "healer" a la dancer or some kind of mage tank. Yes, that last one sounds kind of ridiculous, but not really since as far as I have seen Arcanist, Topaz Carby ain't nothin' to laugh at.
