It's been known for awhile now that things like pvp and the rest of the raid dungeons, housing, and various other things weren't going to be in at release. I am not sure why anyone is at all surprised these things are missing atm. They aren't there, they are coming. For the OP try crafting, make friends, have a laugh, start amassing a fortune to buy your house and furnish it, join a FC, start a FC, find ways to help improve the community on your server, get involved, make suggestions on how to improve the game (the devs seem to be willing to listen to opinion) I'm sure there are some ideas I've missed.

"Endgame" needs more variety in FFXIV. There is barely anything to do when you hit it.

Grinding AK/CM/Praet to get DL? yawn (Dungeon variety? Rewards from tashmobs? yawn)
Grinding nodes, gathering, crafting? double-tripple-quadrouple yawn (Crafting is SO SO SO boring in this game, I`m already falling asleep as soon as I switch to a crafting job)
Leveling another character after hitting 50? Welcome to endless fate grinding

I finished my second 50, both are in full DL and with relic +1. I am working on a third 50 now out of boredom, and this is pretty much the endgame here.

And yes, we are working in Coil apart from that.

(As a side-note, Yoshida said once that you would need to level 3x50 to have enough money for a house. I actually made minus Gil with my second 50 and I will make also minus Gil with my third because they are no quests to gather Gil. Fates do not give enough Gil. I am still sitting at 250k and will never be able to afford a house through this. I am not the type of crafting and gathering guy, I found this utterly boring)

This game has major design flaws and a publisher/developer should know how to handle this in the present MMO market, they are not the first ones.

Keep hanging on the bandwagon of releasing unfinished MMOs, oh yea content patches months later will make it better, just wait for them ... this is no excuse to handle things like that.

What's a "finished" MMO? That's kind of the point is that they are never finished, I'm sorry you no-lifed it and burned out early. Try taking a break or spend time with RL friends, raging about it certainly won't help.

In a game like this where you can level up every class/job, as much as their should be a good amount of end-game it's not really needed till patches 2.1 2.2 etc.

If your talking about WoW where you only have 1 class to level up Yes I agree with you, because hitting cap with one is faster than people think. There needs to be a good variety of end-game? Yes there should be. Is it needed now? If people play the game instead of just 1 job then just do end-game, No they don't need too but in 2.1 and onward yes they do.

A lot of MMO's at launch either:

    A) End game is awesome, but the Journey to get there is boring
    B) The Journey to 50 is Awesome, but End-game is lacking.

Very few MMO's have both those traits. With this game and the amount of stuff you can do in it. It makes up for the lack of end-game, at least till patch 2.1 which better have end-game stuff (Which Crystal Tower will be in 2.1)

Maybe SE should just release every dungeon, every boss, every class, every job, every raid in the first week. Then they won't have to worry about patching anything new in the game.
Then we can have nothing to look forward to, as it's all accesible already. Hell, just bump the level cap up to 99 now, get it over with. Put in every primal, every town, all of it!

seems like you must of rushed a bit in my opinion. I am Legacy, have a 50 Paladin with 2 support classes leveled up for their abilities, all from 1.0 3yrs ago. Started playing ARR from open beta as well when progress started to get saved, and I am just now almost finishing the main story. I just unlocked Castrum Meridianum 2hrs ago :S So going by your join date, you are a brand spanking new account so you started from lvl1. Hows it possible that you beat me to complete the story when I have had a 50 character since 1.0? So yea, I would say you kind of rushed it a bit >_>

also, the game is new and not even a full month has gone by since release. so of course there won't be much endgame content currently available either.

You spent countless hours every day burning your way through the majority of content in the game in just a few weeks and now you're burned out. That's normal. The solution is to take a break.

All I do is farm CM and I love it because at the end of the day I like seeing myself with a new Darklight item.

Honestly I think this would be more optimal then trickle content getting alittle bit at a time.

At least in this situation both the hardcore and the casuals will not run out of content for years.

If anyone no matter if you are hardcore or casual runs out of content or gets burt out of the content currently... it means the devs did something wrong. XIV needs alot more variety in endgame and a whole lot more content if they hope the game will last anywhere near as long as XI did. The content design prevents them from doing what XI did and slowly releasing it. IT needs to be quick and in massive quantities to keep up with the 40hr per week players. A good mmo NO ONE will be able to finish before content is launch, including the no lifers.
