What a surprise, people telling him to stop playing.
What a surprise, people telling him to stop playing.

OP, there are a lot of things to do in game beside just farming Castrum and/or AK.
There are Primals.
There are other classes to level.
There is gathering and Economic participation (playing the market boards).
There is Crafting (again more economics).
If you're bored with one of those then try some of the other mechanics. If you're bored with them all, take a break from the game or stop playing.
That is the only logical thing to do if you don't enjoy playing a game. Why would anyone keep playing something they don't enjoy?
Dear OP. Your character dude kind of looks bored too..... lol I'm sorry just had to point out that opinion, digging the beard. Also looks kind of sad...

If you really want to quit before all this within the first year of the game, with more things I'm sure that are not mentioned here:

Be my guest. I'm not missing out on all this epicness just because I'm bored 1 month into the game.
If you are really THAT bored. Go play GTA V, the new Tales game (which is excellent), the new
Dynasty Warriors, re-live some SNES RPGs (those NEVER get old). Occupy yourself until the
patches start rolling in.
Don't completely drop the game based on the first month. If people had this mentality with WoW
that game wouldn't be what it is today. Just gotta give it time to grow. If you aren't willing to
be patient, then I don't know. MMOs might not be your thing.
You can't honestly expect SE to throw the entire kitchen sink in on day 1, leaving no surprises or
room for improvement later. Sure, they probably COULD throw every single primal in right now, every
job, every dungeon imaginable. Then what? Patch day comes, and what do we have to look forward
to? A few ability changes, maybe. A different chocobo color. No thanks.
Not saying this towards the OP in-particular, this is just in general. Kinda getting sick of all this "I'm quitting this game sucks" stuff.

Idk, I've been 50 for about a two and a half weeks now, and I'm pretty far from bored... I'm working on my relic quest, helping my friends out, playing some alt classes, and working on crafting/gathering. Sure the AK grind may suck, but I don't sit there and grind it for that reason. DL gear is very much at least partially to completely skipable. I have the tomes needed to complete my Relic with minimal effort which I was able to obtain the majority of the pieces through Palace and breaking down some HQ crafted gear from a GSM buddy of mine. Nothing's been forced or 'rushed' nor have I stayed stagnant.
[to be continued... eff this 1000 char limit!!]
I do agree that there should be more verity in the entry level end-game content, but they have said that there will be more lower level dungeons becoming HM dungeons to fill that void though. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the game's release content, wish there was some changes to the primal loot drops, 44runs in Ifrit and only seen the blade drop once. In which I lost it to the most horrible PLD tank I've ever seen in my life, I'm sure you can forgive me for my disappointment of how it works.
My take on the 'bored' scenario is, if you're that bored, this MAY not be the place for you. Come back in a couple months when the patch hits and try it out again, because overall the game's great but end-game content is obviously lacking - with promises to get better, hopefully they make good on that promise.

"Everyone's perception is different, and the perception is always changing."
We've known endgame was incomplete since day one. I don't know why people seem to disregard that and run the content into the ground until the inevitable boredom, and then in turn go to the forums to post their boredom.
Are people who only want to experience a fraction of the game (level one class with no crafting) really surprised that they are bored?
If you don't want to fall behind, play minimalistically - Kind of like I've been doing, work towards crafts, complete your relic/relic+1 quests if you haven't already, help friends out, level an alt job to bring more diversity to your group. F'k the DL Grind, it's kind of a useless mediocre set anyway! The accessories are legit though... I need those! :P
[YAY FINALLY DONE! lol]
