Error 601 payment? NO MORE. Fix in here
Since a MOD closed the Thread instead of providing wit ha solution this works for me. and i must say i was once of those "locked out" people and now magically im able to Play again YEY !!

    1) Get a hold of an Ultimate Game Card (best found at Walmart or Gamestop) for, say, $20.

    2) Log into Mog Station/SE Account Management and attempt to add crysta with it.*(99% chance of it giving you an error and rejecting the card - this is just to make a paper trail to be followed)*

    3) Contact the VISA operator @ (650) 432-3200, ask for PlaySpan (read: Ultimate Pay)

    4) Tell the following rep you attempted but failed at adding Crysta. They will ask you for the PIN of the card and for the email that your game is tied to. When they look it up, they will see your prior attempt - makes it fast and easy for them.

    5) Confirm that you want your game card placed onto your FFXIV account.*(Within 10 minutes, you'll have an email letting you know you've had Crysta added.)*

    6) Log into your Square Enix Account Management page, click on "Crysta Passbook", and you'll see the 2,000 crysta added.

    7) Continue to Mog Station, and go through the payment process again, this time using the Crysta that is now on your account. As I said, this is a pain in the butt and roundabout way of doing it (Hopefully you're lucky and can get a digital card from Walmart.com or Gamestop.com), but it will (and has in my case) gotten me back online and playing.

    This works for me!
    Thanks.

Thanks for this! I'll check my credit card in a few days then and see if it's still there. You just saved me from worrying about it tonight.

Just got off the phone with USAA. They don't even see the transactions coming through there system. On top of that I had the rep put a temporary authorization for the amount I was charging and it STILL didn't go through.

Something tells me this has nothing to do with OUR banks...

This would not work for me as Crysta is not available in my "country' right now and also when I go to the payment option screen there is no option for me to pay with Crysta, Paypal, or any other option other than a credit card. The only options available are credit card options... Visa, MC, Amex, Discover, JCB, and one or two other cards.

Not only did I have to wait in queue for customer service twice because when it was my turn in queue my ticket just got cancelled. The support guy tried blaming the mistake on everything from my bank rejecting payment to my inputting my card info wrong and when i told him that I made sure the info was correct and I have orady called my bank but then he says my browser is the issue. I have even bought an Ultimate Game Card for $50 to buy crysta with and the time card got declined... and when I told him that he responded with "there is nothing I can do for you" and ended the the support ticket before I could even respond.

That is just unacceptable I have been playing SE mmos for a better part of a decade

The first thing I did is talk to my bank and they don't even see the request. The issue is with SE and Global Pay, but these types of institutions refuse to troubleshoot and point the finger somewhere else because they have incompetent technical support people.

This have nothing to do with our banks. I'm in the same situation. According to bank there isn't a attempt of charge in there.
I can't use Ultimate Game Card solution, neither Crysta (i'm living outside NA), the only thing left is credit (should be the easiest).

And the funny thing, i bought 1.0 and paid monthly fees using this card.

I just wanna my 50 dollars back. I tired of this, first the "mockery" of the first week, now this.

What they did with Square Soft ...

Yeah, the card I tried to register was the same card I used in 1.0 to pay for my subscription. So it is definitely not my banks fault.
