Is there a free way to get into/out of Limsa Lominsa?

First off, 200₲ is cheap. I know. I can get that back in a single quick leve and just use Return for half the trip, but it seems odd to have the rest of the country open to free travel. Especially when the city state in question is a starting point.

Personally, I would prefer a long free ferry ride like in 1.0 as an option to make up for walking distance as a balence. Complete with fishing because why the hell not?

Overall minor issue at the worst, but I just want to hear what other people think. Enchant me with your collective wisdom and social grace.

Well yeah. And in real life ferries cost real money- yadda yadda.
I'm asking about the possibility for a free option like in 1.0 just for the sake of balance.

I'd just like a way off Limsa before level 15 even if it does cost a little bit of money. Newbies in the other two areas can walk to the other cities.

It's rather irrelevant, there isn't any group content until you're sent on the airship to the other city-states in the main story anyway. And even then, you don't have to be in the same area/region as your friends to invite them and queue up for whatever dungeon you're going to do. This would merely be an aesthetic change, which is fine I suppose but not really important.

Don't count out the gathering and crafting jobs, not to mention various war jobs and standard quests. There are many things you can't get outside the island.

And that isn't really an aesthetic change as it has to do directly with the game economy interaction itself and less to do with how the game comes of atmospherically.

I really don't see the importance. Especially considering exactly how much time it would take to run between Gridania and Ul'dah. Which itself is a waste of time. At what level would this be even remotely economic as compared to the time it would take?

Not really so much important as it is even throughout. In spite of how small the charge is, it does give the city-state a disadvantage when moving around.

I do see what you mean though. The rate is so small that it seems a trifle. Something that would just boil down to something like aesthetic.

I don't think it has to be changed, I just wonder why it is what it is.

Oh you mean La Noscea/Vylbrand o.o I was all set to launch into a ramble about how Limsa Lominsa has two gates you can just walk straight out of, or even warp through if you've got all the aethernet nodes attuned >.>

Still, no to my knowledge there isn't a way to move between La Noscea and the mainland for free. It does make sense I guess given the only ways to do it are by ferry of some sort, but I'd certainly welcome a way to do it on foot. Especially if the developers got creative. Say, a landbridge that can only be crossed when the tide is out (or at least i much easier to cross then), or an undersea tunnel too small for anything but a little party of adventurers on foot.

Still, even if nothing changes I'm happy. There's something oddly special about a landmass being so totally cut off.
