    "New Game+". (Getting more content out of the Main Scenario)

    I was just thinking of what the words "New Game Plus" would mean for this game. When you look at the main scenario as a whole, you clearly have something that could be called a "main game". So I was thinking what would happen if you made a "hard mode" of the entire main scenario meant for players who completed it and are now at cap. Functions like a NG+, the same game but with your same stats (and often enough challenge to meet that). Seems to me it would be a very easy way to add content that could be fun and challenging.

    Take all the spawned enemies and instanced battles and raise their level to 50 (or higher, with item level considered). Change the "kill x number of enemies" quests so you are fighting stronger monsters found elsewhere (or make them popped enemy battles). Dungeons could be handled in two ways: have players redo the old dungeons (so they are more lively for new players) or insert the "hard mode" versions. Primals, same deal. The "Cape Westwind" battle could go either way.

    Seems like it could add a lot of variety to the endgame (which is currently bogged down with tomestone grinding) with very little unique assets used.

    What do you think of this idea?

    There's everyone else crying and complaining about non issues on this forum and then there's people like you coming up with awesome ideas. This is a super cool idea. I'd also like a similar feature for the combat class stories. Or perhaps just a hard mode in general that gives you a bit extra reward. I can count how many times I've died from story related stuff on one hand.

    Awesome idea! Maybe add the function of unlocking magitek armor as a companion(like the chocobo) for beating it in hard mode. Or a minion or something. Cool idea.

    This is what I wish for: I wished that quest completions were tied to what job you were using.

    Yep, so you could actually level by way of questing those other jobs you want to use. Oh, and give them a nudge on XP and put in a ton more for 40+. Then it would feel like we aren't forced to fate grind.

    You didmt read the post did you? He wants it to be an end game feature. Not leveling.

    I did, but perhaps I could have phrased this another way. I apologize for throwing a half thought out there.

    If I were to do the main story line over, I would rather it be done to help level another job and not just an easy time-sink for end game.

    Well, there are already hard and hyper modes of all dungeons coming. The only difference between that and what you are asking is it would include going through the story again. I'm not against that but I don't think that would be very popular in an MMO setting. If it were a single player title, maybe....

    I kinda figured you meant that, like having the Story Line quest solo fights also more difficult. (Level 15 White Demon un-nerfed). I was just saying that in an MMO, especially this one where one character is enough for all classes, repeating story quests and such would just become tedious. Its just my opinion though, I'm sure others would love the added challenge. The only way I could see this as being something desirable is if you could farm endgame gear from it. Would it be something that would level sync you and just make it hard? So many questions and technicalities. I couldnt see this even being a whisper in the dev teams ear until many years down the road, if at all.

    Not trying to burst your bubble, its why i mentioned the hard/hyper mode dungeons coming. Its about as close as you will get.

    I think New Game+ would be interesting.

    Also they should have the storyline for new game+ be...

    New Adventurer: New Game+ Storyline is the Legacy Version of the storyline

    Legacy: New Game+ Storyline is the New Adventurer storyline.

    That way both storyline is obtainable but they will be labled as "What If" Scenarios in the Cutscene book.

    This thread died pretty quick. Think I'll give it a single bump so people get inspired by such an idea and maybe devs will be asked to implement something like it.

    Letting players do the "Legacy" route after clearing the main scenario is a good idea.
