that would be a win win for everyoneGating content by having a single dungeon drop the marks required to advance to the next tier is horrible design, period -- especially when said dungeon requires a wait in excess of 1-3 hours to even enter it.
A solution would be to implement a random dungeon queue similar to Rift's. Upon queueing, players would have a chance at every dungeon in the game, and would receive tomestones upon completion. If the dungeon is sub-50, they would be synced to the proper level. Not only would this help folks get the gear they need at 50, it would help lower level folks progress and level up.
I didnt abuse the AK speedruns so....
Awww....is this game actually making you play it for loot? If you want things handed to you then go play WoW...This game is for the hardcore MMO players...not the cream puffs
The biggest issue with Amdapor Keep and dungeons in general is that "trash" mobs do not drop anything, no loot, no gil. Well they occasionally drop 1 Gil... k.
I don't know whether to laugh at you or just be sad for you.
Nothing " hardcore" about clearing trash that literally give you nothing at all for your time. Unless you choose to beleive thats hardcore. But thats YOUR belief. Personally I just find it pointless.
EDIT: Lol at " Go play WoW. " I bet you weren't around for vanilla WoW were you? Them 10 man UBRS runs were you had to CC 4 - 5 mobs and have people keep CCing, boss kite tactics for end bosses, etc. DPS actually sat around and waited before dpsing packs for the 2 - 3 sunders. Was a whole lot more annoying that herding cats here in Duty Finder.

When all is lost,
All is in vain.
When Good and Evil,
Unite in pain.
Rivers of swords must join as one,
Only then shall the spell be undone.
Yeah played wow at vanilla( Vanilla was great, Cata after the easy button was turned on and pandaria sucked ass and THE GAME NOW IS VERY EASY) and FFXI until the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion, and anything I have seen in WoW was easier than FFXI specially gearing up.I don't know how XI got after i left the game, but everything i did in FFXI was harder and more rewarding(even when i didn't get the drop that i wanted) than WoW, and had more fun kiting a lvl 20 garrison than doing Upper Blackrock Spire runs.Nothing " hardcore" about clearing trash that literally give you nothing at all for your time. Grinding killing trash mobs and running stuff over and over again is part of those games(that was pretty much how u lvled in XI made good friends this way, too bad community now seems full of people that just want to scream fast run and do things faster and pointless now),it makes you actually play to get what u want instead of just throwing it at your lap , people who say that they want stuff easy are just used to WoW giving then anything they want.
P.S.:Finished getting my darklight gear just by running Castrum, was way too easy to get it and mostly did it with duty finder groups(what means several screw ups and wipes on it, mostly caused from guys shouting fast run), people complaining it takes too much work to get stuff are just lazy.
By 'easy button' I am assuming you mean the Raid Finder. I suppose this means that you quit because you were under the mistaken impression that Raid Finder issued good gear to those who completed it.Yeah played wow at vanilla( Vanilla was great, Cata after the easy button was turned on and pandaria sucked ass and THE GAME NOW IS VERY EASY) and FFXI until the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion, and anything I have seen in WoW was easier than FFXI specially gearing up.I don't know how XI got after i left the game, but everything i did in FFXI was harder and more rewarding(even when i didn't get the drop that i wanted) than WoW, and had more fun kiting a lvl 20 garrison than doing Upper Blackrock Spire runs.
Getting "geared" in WoW was a subjective thing. Some people were satisfied with heroics gear, some with RF, some with pvp gear, some with normal mode raids and some with Heroic raids... Now if you say that getting geared is easy then either youre just an absolutely fantastic raider/pvper or you gave up before getting to the hard content... and based on your opinion that FFXI was 'hard', then Im going to assume youre not cut out for heroic raiding or high end rated PvP in WoW.
And then there are challenge mode dungeons which reward cosmetic gear, and are quite challenging. So get off your high horse. Theres nothing hard about monotonous grinds except forcing ourselves through them.

Nope not talking about raid finder, by easy button when heroics and raids stopped killing the noobs, when stand on fire become ok, I'm talking about the cry that the game was impossible answered by a developer as "HEROIC'S ARE NOT FOR EVERYBODY" that caused several posts of people saying that he would quit the game. You should know what i mean if you played cata at release, I can say i didn't really do heroic raids on pandaria, mostly because the game was boring me to death after cata but I did cata and it was easy, so what u are saying is that it was easier to get gear on FFXI than WOW? are u serious?did u really play it?By 'easy button' I am assuming you mean the Raid Finder. Ya, I played FFXI. And ya, getting gear was easy. The problem with it was sitting in sky/boy tree/valley/etc you know where i mean waiting for hours for things to pop to lolspam them down for nothing but a pop item, or holding them for hours before killing them. The only thing that was remotely hard was Suzaku, and thats because I was the RDM/DRK who had to eat the death and grind out more XP. If difficulty to you is nothing more than a timesink then I feel bad for you. Even if early cata was 'easy' which clearly demonstrates that you didnt do heroic raiding, it was at least fun to get the gear.Nope not talking about raid finder, by easy button when heroics and raids stopped killing the noobs, when stand on fire become ok, I'm talking about the cry that the game was impossible answered by a developer as "HEROIC'S ARE NOT FOR EVERYBODY" that caused several posts of people saying that he would quit the game. Oh, also... heroics stopped being hard after Burning Crusade. As did raiding, TBH. Which is the reason they introduced heroic raiding. It was a means of offering fun content to all players. Those who werent shining golden gods, and those who liked to think they were. That's the great thing about WoW. You dont have to be an amazing player to have fun. And so far, from what ive experienced in FFXIV, its the same thing... except that it doesnt seem to matter how 'skilled' the player is, there just isnt any fun to be had.
This idea that 'noobs' shouldnt be able to play the game is an antiquated ideal held only by those who wish for a smaller pond. Square-Enix is in this game for money, as any business should be. The problem is that they are going to start hemorrhaging subscribers if they dont start offering content that is accessible to the majority of players. And that majority is the players who cant afford to spend 60+ hours to get PRE-RAID gear.
And even if getting said gear isnt the goal, there's just not enough content to keep people interested. There are 2 level 50 dungeons outside the story raids, and only 1 of those is viable for grinding out Tomestones. And with the change that prevents speed runs, it has been made unbearable by most. Why is it so hard for people to understand that boring != hard? And for that matter, accessible doesn't necessarily equal boring.
