And Gil doesn't get the item, everything is accessible in game free. You can go farm your mats to take up a craft, you can slice fish up for shards, or break crystals into shards, all farmed or fished, you can then go out with friends kill a NM and use your craft to make the item. Or if the item drops from a pure NM, camp it and claim it and get the drop. There wont be the same scene as XI as already perceived by the developers.

You're hating botters for the wrong reasons it seems, all I see is jealousy that the botter has 100m while your sad your 1m doesnt go far and you're sitting in velveteen while the botter is in some insane robe that you need 42 golden ducks to get. Why does-the way you get something have to have any competitiveness against another person? This is a game, you do what you want on it, the "competing" is all in your head.

People come up with silly excuses like "They claim all your mobs!" well I could do that, without botting, and since when are they your mobs, did you go around with a black marker writing your name on it and filing out some copyright form to allow authorization of the ownership of that mob to you? Its pathetic really lol.
Simple economics lesson:
100 people all farming the same item = that items price goes down
100 people who have a ton of money all trying to buy a rare item= that items price goes way up
So no i didn't go against myself, you just didn't understand my argument.

you're basically arguing that its ok for other people to cheat and get the best items really fast because you are willing to spend a year grinding to get that same item. While that is -your- opinion, it is not one shared by most people.
There is a reason why FFXI worked so hard to get rid of RMT and fishbots and such.
And in the end, crafts and gathering became essentially -useless- in ffxi
and most good items became rare/ex

The thing is, SE already made these mistakes in FFXI. They have no excuse to be making them again with FFXIV. If they don't ban all the botters, they only way they have to make the game somewhat fair is to create rare/ex items that you get from raids or nms. That means the game will probably have to become raid-heavy. As a result the whole "casualness" is elminated. And the game still has to attract a HUGE new population to be anywhere near successful. A raid-heavy game probably won't attract enough of a population. So FFXIV is essentially setting itself up for failure.

And thats what concerns me.
