Is anyone annoyed by the HUGE number of people using bots on this game?

I've played a lot of MMOs and I don't think I have ever seen any with the obvious number of bots that this game has. I mean there are a -huge- number of fishing bots making fishing essentially useless to rank up legitimately, a huge number of crafting bots, and a huge number of exp bots. And for those who say "how do you know they are botting", a bit of youtube searching allows you to watch videos of the bots and see the obvious tells (which i wont discuss on here).

So i'm just wondering. Is anyone really annoyed by the very large number of bots being used? And do you think its going to make crafting and gathering in this game kind of useless for normal players (since i'm assuming those people botting and getting 6 or 7 crafts up by leaving the game running all night are going to end up -way- ahead of the average player who can only get 1 or 2 to 50 legitimately)

Further, a lot of these crafters are using bots to basically get rich or to flood the markets with certain fish and then craft those fish into certain crystals... I'm sure a lot of people on here know what im talking about.

And what was the point of surplus? Since it obviously has not stopped the botting or RMTs from leveling up. It seems like something that just annoys people but has no effect.

With so many people quitting the game all you really have left are the hardcore players and a handfull of casuals. Oh ya and the bots. I would think that about 25% of the people playing everyday are bots. Now i could be off on my numbers but thats what i think. I have seen a couple people at 50 on all jobs. Which is impossible to do without botting.

i dont think its anywhere near 25%
but i wouldnt be surprised if it was a high number such as 5% or so
(which is still alot)

also just cuz people have alot of 05s dont make them bots, if i didnt work id be 50 in everything already myself, and i dont bot

You are the exception not the rule. Honestly I would be fine with a few honest innocent players getting banned if it would eliminate all of the bots. If you have 10+ 50s at this point in the time line of the game there is a very very very good chance you NEED someone to force you to stop playing.

That seems a little bit cruel to the players that did put up with this mess only to lose there hard work, the legitimate ones anyway. Would you be fine if you got swept up with the bans as well? Wouldn't be right to inflict that to someone if you aren't able to take it yourself.

Actually I would be fine with it, i dont have a 50 and my account was activated on sept 22nd. This game doesnt run my life tho so starting over wouldnt be that big of a deal.

with how SE does their bannings its hard for legit players to get hit by accident

i mean how hard is it to respond to a GM message
or not talk to anyone ever while crafting legit

they usualy watch players to see if they are bots or not legit before they hit them(unlike some other games who ban you purely for having alot of gold with no investigation)


also while the STF is "down" they are still active too, bannings are happening just not in the way they would if they were up like they normaly would be

Dont underestimate the number of people willing to press enter-enter-enter all day or 1-1-1-1-1-1. The Japanese are really proficient at it.

I hate that several people are using bots Ive reported them and even came to the forums and named names. Guess what those same bots are still in game over a month later, still making shards by the vendor in limsa still R21 alchemy still wearing R1 cloths still logged in 24/7 crafting.

Yeah, there is this bot on Lindblum called Emily Greed that fishes non-stop just north of Horizon and then breaks crystals all day in Uldah. It's been doing it for months and months. And that's just off the top of my head. There are lots more.
