As to the ops question would i donate money to the game? hmmmmmmm nah, not unless they were going to incorporate my ideas into it, which is too much to ask for the crappy donation id be giving

Would i pay for it? hmmmm nope. Not to say the game has no value, but it has not really advanced much since the first month compared to where they supposedly wanted it to be. I still cant fight as a miner, i cant switch to a defensive stance on pugilist. i cant use status arrows on ranger. I cant participate in the arena, or gamble in ul dah. The game has improved a lot of things that have been in there from start, but still hasnt even caught up to where it was supposed to be at start, and its definately not at the point it should be after 3 months of official release, forget about the 7 months its been out.

I would just stop playing till they added noticeable content. And i didnt even have major problems with the game as it was, i wanted more and better content. Now if ihated the battle system and etc, id be even less likely to want to pay at this time.

Basically they are paying a development cost right now, we are just beta testers. they already got 80 bucks from me as a donation on this beta.

What purpose does saying the same thing a million ways accomplish if SE has already addressed it? My feeling is that some players think that may oooohhh SE we'll never pay for your game if you don't do what I want is unrealistic. Especially, if they have already addressed the problem and given us a plan of implementation. I'm pretty sure SE knows that as they put the changes players have requested in place the game will grow.

First of all, they haven't fixed all that much yet, and that's fine really. If you've read some of my other posts on this forum you'll realize I'm behind Yoshida and his team. The things we have seen this far are part of a plan that will be finished at some point, I'm not arguing with you on that. And I will be more than happy to pay to play FFXIV when the things that are in this plan are put into the game. But not now, because most people still don't like the game enough to pay for it every month.

I mean seriously all you're saying is that because promises were made it's alright for them to go ahead and make us pay now. Fuck no! If people start thinking like you, companies will just release games in alpha state, make players pay a monthly fee for it and say: "Hey, in 2 years the game's gonna be awesome guys!". Please, be real.

I allready did pay em. Bought Crysta for 6 months of Playtime shortly after release.

Sure, we didnt got much to do in this MMO yet but i had alot of hours of fun till now and i expect it to become something big, like FFXI (which wasnt that great at the beginning too).
So it would be an honor to me, to help this game to become something real good because i like Square. They gave me so many awesome Games over the years,

If we were presented with the option to pay, until they make the game fully pay-to-play then yes, I would pay it.

They'll know when the game is ready to once again be P2P, and I would not mind supporting the XIV team with 12.99 a month. Call me a fanboy, whatever, I don't care. The more revenue this game has the better off we all will be.

More revenue = higher budget = more projects being worked on = happier & larger playerbase. Win-Win.

The way I see it, I'd be making an investment in my own entertainment and enjoyment. 12.99/mo seems like a reasonable investment. 12.99 is lunch at an inexpensive lunch buffet. Or, if you're a smoker (I'm not), like 1.5 packs of cigarettes.

I doubt SE would ever do this though... something tells me it'd feel to them like asking for a handout from the players to which they've promised to fix things.

That's a wonderfully impossible dream. Seriously would anyone invest in any game that is losing subscribers while being free? All FF14 has is the FF name. There are tons and tons of better MMOs out there and will be out there. And over a majority of them are FtP as well.

Again the only thing FF14 has is the FF name, if it can't live up to it, then that's it. If this game was call crackpot online, it would have been dead long since.

This situation is exactly as it appears, day to day outlooks.

No. The game is just not as fun as it can should be. It still needs a lot of work. Specially if you like to solo. Maybe in the future.
